When? When should he have been given more of an opportunity? Not last season when we were in a relegation battle - maybe he could have had a couple of games at the very end of the season when we were safe. Instead of who? Slater? Woods and Doc were also ahead of him in the queue. Either he stayed with us and warmed the bench or he went out on loan to get more game time.
You've just answered your own question. He could have played, along with about 4 or 5 others including Fleming, Longman etc at the end of last season and got a chance to have a run in the team when it was obvious we were safe but miles off anything else. He has had far less chance than anyone in that squad to adjust to championship football.
Whatever happened to this massive new corporate deal / sponsorship that the ITKs were talking about? Did it happen?
You think he should have played the players he was planning to move on? Thank goodness we have a manager who is striving to move this team forward. UTT.
We were only safe with a couple of games to go. 2 games is hardly a run in the team. Rosie had no doubt decided in his own mind that neither Fleming or Longman were in his plans for this season. Maybe he had decided the same for Simons. Simons is here on a 4 year contract so he has plenty of time to come good.
I don't expect to see Fleming play for us again and I think that's the right decision, if anything he's gone backwards over the past couple of seasons. Longman made 37 appearances for us last season, he clearly didn't miss out on a run of games.
As far as I'm aware, it's not happened/happening yet. But I'm by no means close to anything like that
A really good and open interview with Tan before the game yesterday. Humberside Sport: Pre-match - Tan Kesler with Mike White - BBC Sounds
Scott Brown sacked from Fleetwood. Currently 23rd after 0 wins, 1 draw and 5 losses. Surely if we were going to loan out Simons to a League 1 team we could’ve found him a a better suitor than there. I really don’t see how this helps his ‘development’. Fleming’s loan at Oxford Utd was equally pointless and arguably even detrimental to him.
Not sure if it's just because English isn't his first language, but I picked up on him saying we'd signed 10 players 'so far' in this transfer window. Maybe an out of contract player to come?
Good interview. I think we are very lucky to have him at the club. Not sure it 'clearly explains the process', but it does shed a little more light and gives some reassurance. Pity the unnecessary snide comment was added to the post.
