Newcastle needs to prove that coming 4th last season was not a fluke.

Said they'd struggle this year and we've not even got to European games yet. Going to be harder when they have to rotate and rely on the **** bench riders.

To be fair, thrashed villa who look decent. Lost to Man City. Lost to us but let’s be honest, could have easily won that game. Then lost away to Brighton. They lost to us and city last season and beat Brighton last year so only 3 points down on same teams. Plus they won’t be the last team to lose at Brighton this year.

4 games, 3 against last seasons top 6 was a tricky start.

it's more about how they look in those games

villa played poorly and got badly suckered.

    city had other issues.

they looked absolutely awful against us. slow and lacking anything but fouling.

they did well defensively last season but I think now they will be well marked out.

howe to be sacked by Christmas

Thing is I said before howe was hired I don’t think he’s a good coach. He can’t coach a defence whatsover. His Bournemouth team couldn’t ever defend but was played down as it was Bournemouth.

he then took over newcastle and they were solid defensively. Brilliant at start of last season and built on that. After the WC their defence turns awful but they won enough games and got goals from Isak and Wilson. But I think they kept something like 2 clean sheets in last 15/16 games.

Has Howes coaching finally got his ways across and as such made them worse defensively?

Nick Pope is currently showing why no one better than Newcastle were ever interested in him. Burn another Brighton player that did well and gone downhill since moving. Trippier looking his age and past it as a defender.

They’ve spent some big money and got few decent players but spent big on a couple young players like Hall and Livramento who need to come good quickly.

Yes, but we've seen time and time again, if you want to be top four you have to get some points out of your harder games.

If they had emerged from that opening handful relatively unharmed, the momentum could have carried them into a title fight, instead they have to make sure the team doesn't get used to losing.

A hard start can be a blessing or a curse depending on home you take care of it.

So Everton may he saved this season due to the fact there's several bad teams out there.

Yeah but I think they will get some decent games and possible win a couple at home which may assist him hold on a bit longer
