The police described the Notting Hill Carnival as mainly friendly and enjoyed by most. The organisers said all the stabbings and assaults were nothing to do with the carnival organisers. Maybe Cardiff and Swansea should tell the police the same.
Meanwhile the arrival of a couple of thousand football fans causes this - https://www.swanseacity.com/news/cardiff-city-important-ticketing-information

Is £20 for a coach trip of 40 miles reasonable or on the steep side?

Brighton have signed Ansu Fati on loan from Barcelona. Hell of a signing for a club that size.

Mentioned it some time ago, At one time in the 1960s and 70s all successful teams had a nucleus of Scottish players.
Mackay at Spurs and Derby, Alan Gilzean later. Law and Crerand at Man Utd. Bremner and Gray at Leeds. Hansen and Dalglish at Liverpool.
There was also Jimmy Johnstone at Celtic who never played here which was unfortunate as he was one of the best players I have seen. Jim Baxter was another skilful player.
Though a lot on not606 would not have wanted Johnstone, only 5’4” and Mackay 5’8” and Bremner 5’5” would be considered too small to be midfield enforcers.
Didn't Johnstone briefly play for Sheffield United? He was an outstanding player in his prime.

Yes. Just looked it up. 11 games. Forgot about that.,Also had 9:games for Shelbourne.

Used to work in Leeds around the time they played Celtic. Knew a few lads amongst the few who ventured up to the game at Hampden. That was some scary experience. No Service Crew types fancied their chances after seeing Celtic fans in Leeds. They said Johnstone’s performance was the best they had seen a player out in against Leeds. He was unplayable.

I didn't know about Shelbourne.

will keane busy putting preston at top of the division, with our help.

was expecting a massacre at doncaster, with them being bottom and swindon scoring 11 in two games. even doncaster down to 10 isn't making much difference.

Brighton fielded an 18-year old tonight and he got a hat trick. I sometimes wonder if any of our young 'highly rated prospects' might be able to do something similar given the chance? Might serving time in L1/L2 on loan take that youthful exuberance and promise out of them?

It might do but it’s up to the young uns to prove they are up for the fight. If they can’t hack it in league 1 then they won’t in the Championship. Football should be like any job when you are young and starting out. Show you are good enough..
