Matchday! Just finished work so I'm off to bed. Will all be over by the time I'm awake. Looking forward to ranting, raving and moaning or being excessively upbeat. COYR

Read the thread back from about 12 onwards and you will see all of those lol.

I actually love reading the Matchday thread back for the first time (knowing the result) after a game that I have been at. Comedy gold sometimes.

We are in a great position without being convincing. They have been character performances helped with the odd late goal. We need that character again today after what has been a disruptive week.

I would be very happy if we remain unbeaten after today as we have a great platform now going forward. A chance for a settled squad with quality and players who want to prove themselves.

A chance for RM to work with the new squad for tougher games in September.

It's just gone 19.30 here in New Plymouth, New Zealand. I plan on staying up for tonight's 23.30 kick off. I managed to stay up for the previous tv games, but I have had a few drinks tonight.
Fingers crossed I don't fall asleep on the couch! Lol

Good luck with the master plan.
In similar circumstances I had an active day earlish dinner with a couple of glasses of robust red. Slept with an alarm set knowing there was ample beer chilled and a half time pie. Worked a treat!

Meeting up withSunderland mate at the Navy club. Despite relegation, Saints are still a pampered, mega rich, entitled club. Getting 120 million in parachute payments means we are in effect still a Premier League team. Should be a lively discussion over pre lunch sherries.

Yeah it's brilliant. Especially when we've had a rubbish first half and good second half. Or vice versa as per under Ralph

Would probably take a point here if Che not available as we're pretty short up top. Sunderland are a decent side too and traditionally we've struggled up there.

If its so easy going up after getting relegated, then why didn't they do it?

No idea if someone manages his social media or not, but that’s what that post screams of to me. If he is able to refocus quick enough to play and perform well today I’d be impressed. His head must have been all over the place yesterday. Wouldn’t be surprised if RM sits him out of today too and says it’s his call again to take the limelight off Che a bit. Shame for us as we’ll be really light up front again but hopefully just for this game.

    KWP captain today for me.

He is our most experienced player and has spoken recently about wanting to to step up and become a leader and think he actually mentioned capataincy too. Been an absolute model pro throughout the window and has led by example off the pitch, deserves a chance to do it on the pitch.

RM did say Che would be involved if he was still here, but as others have said it kind of depends how close he was to leaving. There was a lot of noise, but that might of all it has been.
For all we know he was training happily all week, travelled with the squad like everyone else and the alleged interest from Wolves was nothing more than a five minute phone call

If this wasn’t televised, I would say he was out. But I am a cynic and agents want exposure for their players. I think he will play.

Don't forget to keep pinky at the correct pampered, entitled, elite angle.
