Its been an interesting few months!! The only players I miss are Mouyokolo, Hunt, JVoH and Altidore With the service we are providing the strikers now, I'm sure those 2 would be finishing them.
Strikers from above? Do you seriously not remember how ****e Altidore was at scoring? JVOH sure, an awesome guy, fully committed, but how fit is he now? How longs he got left in him? Hunt Id take back in a heartbeat, providing he's not injured or something....if I'm honest I tend to stop caring about players and managers once they've left the mighty Tigers, but seriously, I'm more than happy with the team we have atm, and have every hope Nicks going to get out of some of them what NP didn't and build on what he achieved with our players. Whats with the obsession of looking back all the time? This board's full of it recently. NP did a great job for us, and left. He's possibly done us a favour, saving us a fortune and potentially pushing someone who could be our greatest manager into the spot light. We've gotten rid of most of the older players now, its a young team with masses of potential, and the thrilling prospect of actual money to buy actual decent players in Jan, plus the awesome support and loanees we get from Man U. I still hope Bullard breaks his leg again, but that's just personal. Can we please start looking forwards? LCFC aren't our enemy. Nor is Nige. Nor is any of the current players we have. We love Hull. Noone else really knows where we are, especially the media. We despise TWS and everyone hates Millwall. Lets just stick to surprising people and exceeding expectations.
He may have been ****e at scoring but he did cause problems for the opposition cant remember the game but he got all of the back four booked one game and this is a lower league. I'd probs say same as jayc89
Apart from maybe JVOH for Fryatt, I would take the bottom team everytime. So much potential in that team and with Cam Stewart still to return.
gardner couldnt keep fit, george bless him was passed it, cairney overrated, neither striker could score would only take Hunt from 2010
Agreed about Altidore, he had a lot on that season what with the USA National team playing a few games, getting injured then the Haiti Earthquake where a few of his friends and family were from, i thought he did a good job. Id have liked to have seen him and Charlie Davies together in a city shirt, them two linked very well together. I would take the bottom team now
the way i looked at it, was could that bottom side beat man city 2-1..probably not, top team for me, the bottom has potential and in 2 or 3 years it may be better but here and now, the top, but id swap brady for ***an.
I'm split between Basso and Myhill, replace Evans for Cairney, McKenna for Hunt and move Koren into the middle and take Altidore for Fryatt. I'd take that team everyday of the week.
I've always liked Altidore. In fact I had a rant on here a while ago as I was the only one on here who seemed to rate him and he was getting slated all of the time.
Agree with the majority here, Altidore was only ever a bad played in the eyes of stupid people. If you're entire judgement of a striker is based on how many goals he scored in one season and that is it, then you meet te criteria of a stupid person. Jozy wasn't missing chances all the time like our current strikers he just played a different way and hardly went near the goal. JVoH was very good too IMO, he had a decent goal return considering PB kept dropping him every time we lost. One of the best technical finishers I've seen at City and he was a very good target man as well. I'd go with what OLM said.
Yeah who thinks strikers should score goals is stupid. They are on the pitch to assist the defenders and goalkeeper so they can score. I remember a lot fo american posters in vitalfootball defending him and 95% of the users agreed that he was rubbish but now here everyone loves him. Go figure
Denial of what? :S The first team achieved more, obviously but individually the second team has much better players. Although obviously playing in a league below the one the first team played in makes it easier for them. It's hard to judge basically, but some of those top players were just plain ****, regardless of league. Gardner in particular.
The whole concept of strikers been based on goal scoring alone is pathetic. Crouch last season didn't score many but the amount of chances and room he created for Van Der Vaart was immense. Like Heskey at Liverpool, judged to be ****e when really he created room for Owen. You can't judge a striker solely based on goal scoring. Especially considering Altidore probably finished a few of the chances that Fryatt has missed and he would have been on the end of a lot of the through balls that Fryatt has failed to reach.
I agree!!not only goals but 2 or 3 goals in a season is farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr from reasonable.
