Never thought I would see the day saints fans rejoice that incoming transfers have fallen through and we are holding onto Che Adams

 

That's not going to happen then.

 

How will Che feel about that though?

 

I’d like the move to go through and to keep hold of Che ideally

 

He'll have to get on with it when he's got no choice. The noises are he won't kick up a fuss if he has to stay.

 

Unlikely to extend though if forced to stay, no matter how appealing vice captain is.

 

Will piss me off if Che strops and doesn’t play tomorrow. That’ll be two games he will have missed.

 

Probably be a bit pissed off. But then realise his options are:

Sign a new deal and enjoy being part of a promotion push and bag 20/30 goals.
Let his contract expire and find a new club next season.

If he chooses option 2 then downs tools, what club is going to want him? Either way we get a motivated striker that is definitely too good for this league.

I expect him to sign an extension tbh. Not many players are brave (rich) enough to risk letting their contract expire at this stage of their career. Maybe we will offer him a deal with a release clause if we don't go straight back up - then everyone wins.

Because Che stropping doesnt seem in his character based on things we have heard about him before.

If he is though he seriously needs to wind his neck in, as good as he is in the Championship his underperformance in the PL was a part of the reason we are where we are and honestly on evidence this is his level.

 

Lets hope we get the Ruben of the green.

 

Fine by me.

Che stays for this season, helps to fire us to promotion, then we shake hands at the of the season, say thank you, and go our separate ways.

I would much, much prefer that over loosing him for the season that we want him for, only to then risk getting him back for a season that we don't want him for.

 

I'm hoping to be dipping in and out later.

 

Not sure if this has been pointed out but the german transfer window shuts at 5pm UK time. So if Bayern want ABK they had better get a shift on.
