I think Twine is better than Adama, yes. I think I saw a stat that he's had more passes leading to shots than Dan James (as an arbitrary comparison) and he's played two games. I think Philogene is miles better than Sinik. Connolly is better than Tetteh. Lokilo is better than Pelkas. We've gone for quality over quantity.
Oh yes. When we won promotion in 1983 the following week we went celebrating in town and eventually ended up in the pond in Queens Gardens. Stinking of muddy water I tried a few taxis to get me home, they all declined until i got in back of a Lada, he didn't bat an eyelid, not even when i gave him a sodden tenner! The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
That's exactly what I've been saying all season in regards to players going for the best contract etc... but I know 2 players for definite have declined the chance to talk to us because they feel LRs style of play would stifle them. Both where attacking players.
It was a **** question. If you say 'not including the parachute payment clubs' then I'm going to consider the likes of Cardiff and Bristol City who have done relatively better than us with what they've got.
Thing is though wouldn't this happen at a lot of clubs? I doubt this is an exclusive problem to just us
Even relatively speaking I don't think they've done better. We've also done better than Leeds (when weighing up outgoings) so I could include them if you'd like.
Why don't we wait until the window closes before we start saying whether it has been a good or bad window.
People keep inferring that the club have promised we'd have a brilliant window and hyped it up. I think that's a very selective recollection. Acun has said all sorts, ranging from not being patient about getting promotion (quite a while ago now) to wanting to finish mid-table this season, but people seem to want to pretend he's said we're definitely going up, in order to justify being disappointed by this window. If you remember the start of the window, all the talk was actually about how we'd only sign four or five players, it'd be nothing like last year and we'd have to be careful with FFP headroom. So to now be in a position where we're spending £5m on a player and we've got Twine and the rest of them, I just don't know how you can call that over-promising and under-delivering.
Oh 100%. Players don't go to certain clubs for a number of reason, anything from style of play to dislike of coaches etc. I'm just saying that not every player is bowled over by our style of play and LR.
