I think that's just his game to be fair, regardless of position. He's very good at it at times. And people complain about players who just play safe passes and keep the ball, so we have to accept that the alternative to that is a player who takes more risks, creates more chances but also loses the ball more.
He just looks more comfortable centrally, when you are out of position you have to pass at different angles, which are foreign to players. He just looks more confident when he is playing in the middle than he does out on the wing.
During last season I did wonder if we might see both Coyle and Christie on right side duty, might have worked.
We did at one point. It worked well in one game but then not so much in the next one. At one point later in the season I speculated that it might be worth a go again given our lack of wingers at the time, and the consensus was that it was a daft idea, a square peg in a round hole. Now we've got Adama playing there and everyone is up in arms about that (even though it's going pretty well on the whole) it seems to be becoming popular to want Christie there again. One thing that never changes in football is that people always want whatever system or lineup isn't the one currently being used.
I hope I am wrong and city get a result but a pity our new signings have not had time to play with their new team mates. It could have been a different game. But hopefully in the International break LR will mould them into a better team.
Anyway... yesterday was yesterday... now onto the main event. I think we'll get something out of it today...
I suspect LR will go for the same team, but I will be over the moon if Philogene or Connolly start. It would show intent that we are there to score goals. I can’t see us stopping Leicester scoring, so for me, we need to give as good as we get up top.
The medical lads have worked wonders to get him fit enough to sit on the bench. Not as impressive as their work with Sinik though. They've got him fit enough to start training.
He has. But he doesn’t have to aim to play him for 90 mins, maybe try and give him an hour. We could also try and start brightly for once. Although, I imagine this is too much of a risk for Rosenior (not that I’d blame him, given the pressure he is under).
This looks like a tough game and they seem to be a force to be reckoned with but let's have a go at them and see what happens... A draw would be a decent result UTT!!
I’m gonna be as optimistic as the manager and say 4-0 to Leicester but at least we tried our best and it’s the taking part that counts.
We've started very well in our last two games, some of the best football we've played has been in the first 20 minutes of those games. It's been keeping it up beyond that that's been the issue! As for Connolly, I don't think we need to be so eager to get him into the starting 11. He's doing great as a super sub and Delap is doing well starting.
All boundless joy and optimism on here again I see We'll de-flower the King Power and bring their winning streak to an end. 3-2 City Delap hat trick. Or a point. I'd certainly take a point.
