Gallagher probably does suit the system a fair bit better but the price between us and Chelsea will be extortionate. I’d also be curious to see if Gallagher even wants the move, we won’t be able to offer him regular starts just as it is at Chelsea, he doesn’t beat Maddison, Bissouma or Sarr to an XI, plus Bentancur when he returns, though would jump ahead of Skipp and Lo Celso.
I trust the thought that we'll concede fewer goals this season about as far as I can throw Eric Dier. We play a riskier system and are currently an injury to Romero or Micky away from a very fragile platform totally collapsing. The better teams will tear us to shreds. Signing a player of Kelly's standard is just a nonsense.
Sounds like Fulham are struggling to convince Hojbjerg, which is actually understandable to be fair because unlike a lot of others we’re looking to sell he isn’t actually ****, and with Atleti trying to raise funds for a move for him, that’s a superb move and club for him should it go through, think he’d be excellent under Simeone.
But that’s down to his quality which we’ve agreed is irreplaceable, his position was a striker though and that is replaceable. We’re finishing this transfer window one striker less than last season - and a bloody good one at that too.
I suspect the season will be slightly better than you think and slightly worse than I think. Hopefully either way the football will be better because of Bissouma and Maddison and others.
The football will likely be more enjoyable but considering we’re out of one cup already and have no European football, it’s hard to determine just what will be a “good” season.
A decent season will be 6th or 7th A good season will be 5th and a very good cup run A very good season top 4 A great season a trophy
He’s a decent enough player and there’s a reason of all of those we’re looking to sell he’d fetch the most… but you’ve just had it in for him since day one. Atleti wouldn’t be trying to sign him if he wasn’t very good, they’re probably a bigger club than us and have CL football on offer.
So Tottenham deadline day history has left me with this outlook for the day. Players from foreign leagues: If we’ve not heard rumours (previously sky sports news, now usually Fab Romano) by about 2pm, those deals won’t make it over the line. (Doesn’t appear to be any foreign links anyway). If we hear something out of the blue around 5-6pm, it drags on all evening until it turns into a “we tried”. Players from domestic leagues: If we’ve heard about talks prior to 2pm, there’s a likelyhood of the deal going through if a price can be agreed. (Johnson for example) Any “ramped up” interest/genuine offers from about 5-6pm, tend to be for players at London based clubs. Usually a raid of Fulham. In today’s case, Gallagher, at a different London club, being the likely option. Maybe we’ll move for Eze this evening?
this season a good one is playing well and enjoying watching Tottenham again. Don’t have any other expectations, and it leaves one far happier. Ange will do his best, and that’s all we can ask for.
If that is the case then it further strengthens the argument that football has outgrown Levy and he hasn't got a clue
