I believe he wanted two centre backs. The jury is still out in Goustas and when injuries happen, as they will, I think that’s why he wanted extra cover. Bulut seems very meticulous in his team planning.
I'd be relatively relaxed about it given NG can play right CB. I agree that Erol is detailed in his planning. It'll take him time to embed and refine things, but feel we will get better as the season goes on. We're getting the goals we were lacking last season. Need to tighten up at the back now.
Agree on our Ng midget being very versatile, he certainly showed up well for a lot of last season as a 3rd CB, but it looks like Adams had a pretty solid match at CB too, so I guess it won't be the end of the world if we can't get another specialist CB in before the end of the window, but it would be nice to have... There's definitely still a few twists and turns to come yet before 11pm methinks. It'll be almost as interesting to see who we manage to offload too. Based on some of our passages of play over the last couple of games (OK I'm only going off highlights but hopefully they are pretty representative of how we've played) things really seem to be starting to knit together. If we can cut out more of the silly individual errors/bad decisions then we can really be hopeful of a solid season, and if we are remotely in with a shot of the play-offs come January, who knows what could happen?? Erol has shown great ability to attract players without any money to spend, so just what could he be like with a transfer kitty I wonder???
Here’s an analysis of him. A ball playing CB. He can play LB as well which may be useful. https://www.rangersreview.co.uk/int...zo-rangers-linked-defender-profiled/?ref=suit
Swansea could pay money for Panzo but clearly Panzo didnt want to go to that ****hole and wanted to come to us Hopefully Moore rejects Norwich.
I said earlier "Another CB"............ https://the72.co.uk/2023/09/01/sund...with-cardiff-city-in-surprise-transfer-twist/
We're now linked with Danny Batth from Sunderland. He could potentially join on a free if Sunderland are happy to terminate his contract which has 1 year left on it. Don't think he's played much recently for them. Looks like the JBs are taking Jamal Lowe back from Bournemouth. That could scupper Moore's chance of leaving. Round and round we go!!
I'm liking the balance that is being struck with the squad. A few new to the league like Siopis and Goutas, some tried and trusted championship pedigree like Bowler and Meite and Grant. Some higher talent in Ramsey and the exuberance of youth from Colwill and Tanner. Several others waiting in the wings. A proven 9 would be the icing on the cake, but there seems to be enough goals in the squad in the 4 attacking positions. I always prefer the goals being spread about.
Just looking at the start to last season. 4 goals in the first 9 games, then 3 in the 10th. We already have 11 in 6 this season 6 in 4 in the league, 5 in 2 in the Cup. 4 different scorers in the league, 6 different scorers in total.
Moore gone to Milwall on season long loan. Edit: half hour after sky reporting it a done deal, elsewhere its reported Keifer didn't fancy it and the deal is off.
