As I understand it he was offered a contract but refused to sign it.Pearson wanted Massengo to sign a new deal. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/62308290
Depends on how much he’s sold for. Read that they paid £14 million from us, so £200k in every million over that figure. However they are offering Dier into the equation so that may confuse things as we would need to know his value to get a calculation on it.
Think we had to offer him a contract in order to get compensation. So could have offered him one and not play him so he leaves knowing we get compensation from the deal.
Bristol City to loan striker to Newport County following Seb Palmer-Houlden's hamstring injury Seb Palmer-Houlden had made a strong early impression at Rodney Parade but has now returned to Bristol City for his rehab https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/bristol-city-seb-palmer-houlden-8719749
We offered him a contract without expecting him to sign it. We did so to receive compensation when he signed for another club. Without offering him a contract we would not have been entitled to compensation.
It was pretty common knowledge we’d offered him a deal. He certainly didn’t deny it. Obviously we never know what goes on, but I’d be surprised if we didn’t offer him a deal, if only in an attempt to protect our asset.
I’m not sure he didn’t want to play, whenever called on he put in a shift, he just wasn’t prepared to commit his future to us and sign a deal.
I think that is the truth of it, he didn't want to commit his future to us, I don't care, he saw out his contract, he always gave his best when enabled, we have a little cashpot coming in, I hope he has a great time with Burnley and has a great future, good luck to the man.
Vyner is an interesting one, he hasn’t signed a new deal yet either, if he continues to maintain that stance, once Atkinson is back fit I can see Dickie and Atkinson being our go to defenders, providing NP is still with us obviously. Didn’t I see speculation Swansea are interested in signing him before the end of the window, now that would put the cat amongst the pigeons
https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/m...nterest-in-player-as-luton-town-exodus-looms/ Loan for a season.
Think NP rates KN, so do I, above Dickie. However Dickie has a better chance to play as he's right footed. Can see Vyner and Naismith being first choice CHs.
Vyner signs on deadline day https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/bristol-city-defender-signs-new-8722177
PNE is top of the division at the moment ... are they going to do another "Luton"... makes our result a bit more [ v PNE] realistic !
