Why are people still doing the thing of assuming we won’t be getting anyone else in? It seems unlikely that we will let them all out on loan and only bring one injured one in the way the posts on here tonight are going you’d think it was tonight the window was closing
I think people are tainted by near history. Can’t see us doing this and not having at least Stewart + 1 more striker coming in. Would be a very curious decision if not. Hoping for a pleasant surprise out of the blue.
I liked the post above where someone mentions how shocked they are about a meltdown over losing che Adams- a player we would have let go last summer if we’d signed a striker. And we might even have done so bad he not scored those two goals against Leicester and then definitely got someone different rather than just continuing I appreciate the scenario is a little different as this is more his level. But he doesn’t think so and neither do some premier league clubs
Main reason is that if you go into the final day of the window without a striker, other clubs know you are desperate and will overcharge. Daft considering we no doubt waited 3 months in order to get players cheaper. Now the new striker has to hit the ground running, without having a preseason getting used to his teammates.
Tainted by near history but ignoring the most recent history where players are being replaced by players in their position. Tella hasn’t yet but it is meant to be on the cards. Stewart is in for Adams. Can’t imagine there will be no one else for three other strikers out. But all three aren’t going to have people in as not all are part of the active squad I made a post a while ago about some players who will go with replacements (Adams, KWP, the CBs when we were down to four etc) and some who won’t because they were only going to have minimal involvement. Onuachu is on that second list. And being out of the cup probably adds Ballard to that
Don’t think he suits Martins tactics Is a handful as a striker on the break / counter attack but not good enough at the moment to play link up football?
Aberdeen and Hearts are out. So one of the three names could be coming The rumours of Cannon earlier suggest another striker is on the cards. Hopefully it comes off
Would be suicide if we don't bring in another striker. I'm relaxed that we won't shoot ourselves in the foot. Could do worse than keep tall Paul too...
I've been keeping away from this nonsense recently but am I right in thinking that we are supposed to be signing a striker on friday from the club we are playing on Saturday because we are loaning our first choice striker to the league above provided he signs a new contract? As well as selling our second choice and trying desperately to get rid of the one we don't want? As well as loaning out our top academy prospect striker? Did I get all that right?
You forgot to mention that the striker we are signing is out injured, has had two major injuries in the last year, and is relatively unproven at this level.
