Think we're doing sensible things in terms of our transfers. A good mix of high-potential youngsters paired with battle-hardened EFL/lower-tier PL players. We're also extremely well-positioned financially no matter what happens...if we go up straightaway, we're going to be able to spend pretty lavishly. If we don't, we aren't going to go into the death spiral that some clubs do as they have to scrimp and save to stay with the regulations as the parachute payments dwindle.
Good sign Leicester aren’t very happy aboutHarwood-Bellis, Maresca knows him very well and knows his quality. Quite a coup
They seem to think there is no chance he would’ve chosen to come here if they were in for him. They still have a lot of centre backs on the books who they haven’t shifted so that probably explains them not going for him
This seems like an insane decision really. But if he doesn’t want to be here then he might as well leave
Two strikers would be a luxury, but Stewart (once healthy)/Adarma/Ballard isn't really a bad grouping of strikers at this level, in a setup where we generally play a lone striker.
Also seems very risky given Stewart’s recent injury history and that he has only played 13 games at this level. Would hope another striker is coming in, Armstrong being used in the 8 role or whatever you want to call it means he’ll get plenty of playing time anyway. Armstrong hasn’t looked any good as the main striker in Martin’s system so far either
The only reason to do it is concerns over the attitude of the player. It’s obvious that they think he’s not in it and would rather move on.
Also if Harwood-Bellis does come in then we have a very good defence and midfield for this level, with good backups. We clearly have some money so to not bring in someone else in the forward line seems incredibly foolish
Not getting a good striker was my worry from the start. I am feeling pretty calm we will being in two good ones tomorrow!
