I see that the UK has a new Defence Secretary.

I'm not totally sure who it is, but it's either Michael Green, Corinne Stockheath, Sebastian Fox or Grant Shapps - one or all of whom was educated at WBGS...

Not quite the big ups for WBGS that some may think it is. What a shyster.

This is quite extraordinary. The Thursday before children return to school next week, the government orders more than a hundred schools to close because of building safety fears. They have known, and been warned for some years that the lightweight concrete used has a limited life span, but wait until now to carry out safety work. Quite what schools are supposed to do now is a mystery, but parents are told not to worry.

Parents shouldn't worry as the government isn't. They've wiped their hands of it - basically telling the schools to come up with contingency plans.

"Rishi Sunak's government is institutionally corrupt" - nothing we didn't already know, but it is nice to see it in print - and that others are starting to believe it too.

A poll conducted by Omnisis showed that "53% of voters agreed, with just 15% disagreeing...57% said they believed the level of corruption in Government had increased in their lifetime, with only seven per cent saying it had decreased"

The sad thing about it though is that nothing will be done, and they will simply carry on their merry way until voters kick them out.

Why would a Tory MP choose propping up a crumbling hospital as a suitable photo-op?

Which one? There's a whole raft of them there - all equally disturbing.

A veritable conveyor belt. The particular on one my Twitter feed (F.U. Elon) is a 25yo from Atlanta or thereabouts.

Protest in Florida last week - near Walt Disney World resort - after the jailing of the 'Proud Boys' leaders.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion I suppose, but this is just sick.

I have friends of over 40 years standing in Florida. Jewish friends at that. One the survivor of a .22 headshot during a mugging 30 years ago (bullet lodged into the base of her skull and somehow didn't splinter into the nape of her neck and brainstem) elsewhere in a city. I haven't spoken to them since these scenes materialised.
I won't be going back there whilst this crap keeps on.

Macquarie Bank to do away with cash by November next year.

Does that mean Watford's £50m loan will be wiped? ;)

HS2 was to cost £100 billion, cut 30 mins off the journey from London to Manchester. Unlikely to be finished. The LGV Paris to Bordeaux project cost €7.8 billion and has cut the journey time from 3h30 to 2 hours. It took 5 years to build.
