If 75 police officers were assaulted at any event the police would highlight it. It comes across like you are saying the police shouldn’t be issuing a statement because of the likely ethnicity of the people involved. That’s a big red flag to me. If we are striving for equality, which we should all be, then we shouldn’t expect the police to treat a situation differently because of who may be involved in criminal activities. Just ask the victims in Rotherham what further damage that can do.
they get injuries ……they claim for every one they ain’t stupid when it comes to extras….. I remember when they got paid for every arrest at the football……arrests went up but the violence remained
Penny Mordaunt wants to bring back National Service. That’ll teach these young rapscallions to be more like their elders who didn’t do National Service but harp on about it regardless.
Similar that too the smoke law……we is held back by them that claim they didn’t inhale remember Ickes comment to portillo on tv after Michael portilllo claimed Ickes book were non factual…….have you read any of my book….answer no ….then how can you claim to know it’s non factual the usually nonsense of ridiculous claims then get aimed at Ickes by the host and the two other guests present who also never read his books
What I’m saying is that they don’t highlight the incidents that happen across the country every week. What was it 579 officers assaulted each week ? So why Notting Hill ? I don’t think it’s just about ethnicity either. I think it’s about the freedom for people to gather and celebrate their culture. Govts for decades have been trying to clamp down on that whether it’s hippies, crusties, druids, rastas, pill popping acid house folk or whoever. Always citing public order offences to try and quash it don’t get me wrong, people who wander around the streets waving machetes around need to be dropped down a deep dark hole but for an event of 2 million people, the figures the police are citing aren’t revelatory and as mentioned hundreds more officers are assaulted each week across the country. I just think the statement they’ve put out will put them at odds with the community they are trying to serve
Agree with that but the one thing I would say is that when we compare all these events that I would class as falling into the same category of event types...be it a carnival a festival or whatever...Notting hill always wins the stabby contest. That's why it's looked at in isolation Why does this carnival always win this unwanted accolade? I think that's why it's a big deal.
London is stabby. And too many yoot thinking they are the mandem with their BS wannabe gangster postcode wars. Notting Hill, Ladbroke Grove, Kilburn all got their endz and Carnival it all comes together. But for the most part it passes off peacefully. Given there are 2m people there. It's not really comparable to any other event in the UK as I think it only comes behind Rio as being the biggest street party in the world. I just think that if the old bill wanted to put out a statement about the violence against their members, they should have called out street violence, knife crime, youth gangs etc and not put the blame on the carnival itself
If the Jews were in charge of keeping the peace but used their power to rape and beat people up then cried about getting a tiny bit back then yeah. But more importantly, good morning.
I’d be careful mate. The last person that went on a crusade like that ended up with a bullet lodged in her napper.
Yeah a bit but then we keep them in line 99.9% of the time and the exceptions are dealt with swiftly. Family bday. Afternoon tea and being asked why I’m not married yet mostly.
Marriage is for punks. There’s nothing in it for the blokes. I can’t believe peeps haven’t clicked on to that yet. Family birthday sounds cool, afternoon tea is a bit gay for my liking. Hope you enjoy it, though.
