Look at it this way - what's the point in qualifying for the Champions League and then hoping we play the kinds of teams who should really be in the UEFA cup?

And where better for Newcastle fans to go on tour than the world's most famous Mackem Free Zone?

Win or lose (probably lose) it's going to be a ride.

Honestly I think it's brilliant. 6 amazing games against three fantastic sides. Who wants an easy group only then to go out in two games? It's about the journey - and the best thing for the club is the insane amount of interest this will generate, which brings fans and revenue.

The gasp was beautiful - it's the famed group of death, and WE are in it! Which means WE are one team others fear. The Saudi thing vs Qatar isn't lost in there either.

That couldn't have gone better. Absolutely brilliant.

Agree mate. It’s a brilliant opportunity for us without any pressure to give it to world football.

I honestly think we can win the group.

My expectation (before Roy asks) is finishing bottom, sadly, as I don;t think we've done enough in the transfer market and our focus on youth and good old fashioned hard work is exactly that - old fashioned.

However, I think we'll give it a go and just seeing Mbappe at SJP is amazing.

Dont underestimate the quality we have. We only just lost against Liverpool. And Man City would hammer all them teams and we didn’t get smashed off them.

We have enough to get results at home. They won’t like our crowd.

Yep we're ****ed and we'll probably have injuries to key players for most these games.. Burn and Lascelles at cb for example is a genuine possibility.

Talk to me if we beat Brighton. But I will continue to underestimate Burn and Almiron until they're subs!

I agree they are not world class. Miggy just has confidence issues I think.

The Chelsea lad at left back will be just fine.

Honestly, we're two players - three, maybe - from a title challenging team. Vs Liverpool - a better LB and we don't lose, Diaby instead of Almiron and we score 3 or 4.

If we had Diaby, Hall but four years from now and Silva / Todibo in CB (even just understudy for now) we'd be immense.

Confidence issues that have lasted 5 years? That's a skill issue, mate.

And Hall is a great prospect. But the time is NOW.

I think he’s good enough mate and is an upgrade on Burn.

Miggy is a worry. But maybe Gordon can go that side and we play Barnes.
