The $h*t as you refer to them managed a higher finish than 14th, with a lesser experienced manager in charge, work that one out….. Getting sick of the $h*t player excuse, as they finished higher than 14th, which by the way is not mid-table…. Nige has chosen to buy L1 players, so it’s up to him to get something from them, or like all managers he will face the consequences. He can’t control SL not giving him money to spend anymore than LJ could control what he was given, but only one manager is getting the benefit of the doubt. SL does, and always has controlled that element, as is his right. It’s high time the club said what its expectations are, so we as the fans can get together and get behind it. The silence is deafening right now, and is dividing the fan base.

I meant the financial $h1t we were in, not the individuals.
Wiz already put up a list of the positions we’ve ended up in over recent history, they aren’t dissimilar. Considering the relative resources LJ was afforded I’d argue the least Nige should expect Is to be allowed to use some of the money from the Scott sale to bring in some quality. Nige chose to buy L1 players because that’s all we can afford at present, he didn’t decide to buy them for any other reason, that’s why LJ should have better results as he wasn’t limited to buying players from L1

Too late, it'll take a generation to get over Lansdown's ridiculous appointment of LJ.
You and 1For's continual carping of Pearson and mine and others of LJ is proof enough.

    Rumours abound.
Lansdown will run down Pearson's contract and with the club back on an even keel he'll re-employ LJ, out of sheer cussedness, and allow him to spend the Semenyo and Scott money.

    Not sure that’s fair RP..
I’ve actually wanted Pearson to do well for us.. I think with the players he’s had over his time here should be or should have done a lot better.. I’ve even got to like the guy.. but those preaching that he is some sort of messiah and is the best manager to progress us to the dizzy heights are so far, delusional.
Expectations were set high by the board when they wanted a manager change in 2020 stressing that the then current coach had taken us as far as he could and the new manager would progress us further..
Pearson without question has done a decent job with trimming the squad down reducing wages etc. As for his tactics, formations, substitutions, etc and more importantly being able to get his selection of players to gel is a tad concerning..
I believe my criticism is valid of what I watch every week as apposed to the criticism you gave LJ for the sheer hate you had for the guy for who he was.

I pretty much am on the same train here. There is something not quite right with the whole picture, we should be at least 2 or 3 points better off. Mitigation is that he has to reorganise his thinking a tad, NO Scott or Conway but their replacements should be falling o0ver themselves to to shine in the opportunity!

Hate for an individual is something I have little time for, a dislike or simply an ignore attitude would be be my way. There is one or 2 people that I do hate, and the reason for that is an extremity.

    Those that hate LJ.!!!
Millen, Tinnion, Benny and Holden were all equally inexperienced and not ready for the job when they were given it, but none of them had the same hate thrown at them as LJ did on here.
This vitriol was aimed at LJ long before ‘the 65’ and lots of money was spent, that has now become a convenient stick to beat him with after the fact

That's like believing every word that comes from Sunak or Starmer.
What else would a board say ?

You think your criticsm of Pearson is fair, you would wouldn't you, others disagree.
I assure you or anyone else my criticism of him as a player or since as a manager is based on what I saw as a player and now what I see as a manager not nepotism. As a player I looked at LJ's performances and didn't rate him, you did and that's fair. However I wasn't on my own. Only one manager ever employed him in English league football.

If you or anyone else think I didn't/don't rate LJ just because of nepotism then you don't know me.

I've gone on record to say many times that I didn't like the bloke and that I thought he was a dreadful and was a cheapskate appointment.
I've never said I didn't want him to do well with us.

But you have stated quite clearly in the past on here, that Nepotism was one of your main issues with him! The other being he was short...

I don’t know you then because I do think that.. :emoticon-0103-cool: you were always ready to pounce when the results weren’t going well.. be it when player and manager.. the hate ran deep.. and I often pulled you up on it..I don’t really care how other clubs felt about him..as a player and manager he did quite well for us and always gave 100%, thumbs up in my book!!
I actually think I’ve been fair with Nige and although I thought initially he was just arrogant, I’ve quite warmed to him.. I’m just not totally convinced of his on field game management skills.. I’m hoping he turns it around..

    That's not quite true RP:
He played for Arsenal (youth), Watford (youth), Brighton, Brentford, Yeovil, Hearts, Bristol City, Derby Chesterfield and Kilmarnock

You stated English, so I'll ignore Hearts and Kilmarnock, so that leaves Arsenal (youth), Watford (youth), Brighton, Brentford, Yeovil, Bristol City, Derby and Chesterfield.
He also had a brief spell in the England reserves - and was called up to play for Gibraltar but he declined that request.
I may be wrong (honestly) but I think GJ only employed him at Watford, Yeovil and City, out of those 8 (plus the Scottish clubs).
Admittedly his longest spells at clubs were at Yeovil and City, playing for Gary, but it's also worth mentioning that Derby were keen to extend his loan, but Bristol City recalled him - much to Derby's annoyance (and some of our own fans no doubt!!!).

Thanks Wiz - that was actually what I was eluding to when I said England Reserves - I didn't know the details of what the England C meant though.

    R&W

Youth football is not football league but have a guess who was in charge of their youth sections.

Every english league game he played for he was under contract to BCFC and GJ.
He never played in the league for Brighton or Brentford.
At Derby and 3months at Chesterfield, where he was dropped, his contract was with BCFC.
Your statement that he was wanted by Derby is not fact just hearsay.
For 1 minute think of his record.
If that isn't nepotism what is ?

His record at Hearts under the infamous Graham Rix was 77minutes of league football.
TBF at Kilmarnock he came from the bench to win a Scottish cup competition.
Junior retired aged 31 because Kilmarnock ffs didn't renew his contract.

Reserve team football in Scotland and Conference in England was his level.
Like you said he made England C.
