Good Morning. It's Thursday 31st August, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Everton preparing final bid Transfer expert Rudy Galetti has warned Leeds fans to brace themselves, as Everton prepare a daring last minute Elland Road raid. The Toffee's find themselves in a sticky situation, having starting their campaign with consecutive losses against Fulham, Aston Villa and Wolves; and with less than 48 hours until the transfer window slams shut, are desperate to add to their squad. They have spent much of the Summer trying to woo Wilfred Gnonto, but so far, the Leeds board have stayed resolute. It is expected that Everton will make one last approach for the Italian International, and if they fail, will turn their attention to team mate Luis Sinisterra! Everton see Leeds as a soft touch, a club they can manipulate to get their own way; and who can blame them? Both 49ers Enterprises and the Aser Group need to take joint responsibility for their calamitous actions, which saw eight first team stars leave Elland Road for next to nothing earlier this Summer. A late splurge into the transfer market will not suddenly make everything alright. please log in to view this image Greenwood loan on the cards with more to follow Leeds look set to sanction a move for Sam Greenwood to leave Elland Road on loan. A host of Championship clubs have thrown their hats into the ring, with Michael Carrick's Middlesbrough the most likely outcome. Greenwood still has three years left on the contract, but like Joffy, has found it difficult to make the step up to the first team. He is still only 21, so he still has time to come good. Jamie Shackleton, Lewis Bate, Darko Gyabi, Joe Gelhardt and Leo Hjelde have also been linked with loan moves away from Elland Road, whilst Sonny Perkins has already penned a 12 month deal at Oxford Utd. please log in to view this image Norwich issue hands off warning to Leeds Norwich City have issued a hands off warning to Leeds Utd for their Scottish International midfielder Kenny McClean. He arrived at Carrow Road during the 2018 January transfer under Daniel Farke's reign. They paid Aberdeen just £200,000 for him. He's a reliable hardworking player who can operate anywhere in midfield. His versatility and experience has prompted the Leeds supremo to add him to his wanted list. Leeds have seen bids for £3m and £4m downed down, and now, following their 1-0 victory over Bristol City in the Caribou Cup, Manager David Wagner told press 'He will be here after Friday, 100 percent'. please log in to view this image Leeds face competition for Celtic ace Media sources suggest Leeds and Southampton are locked in battle for highly rated 22yo Matt O'Riley. The attacking midfielder applies his trade with Celtic, whom he joined 20 months ago from the MK Dons in a £1.5m deal. He has made 57 appearances for the Scottish Champions, netting nine times. He had a handful of England Caps, up until U18 level, but has since pledged this allegiance to Denmark (U21's), even claiming he 'felt quite Danish'. With the Nadiem Amiri deal dead and buried, Leeds have moved quickly to test Celtic's resolve, but their offer has been turned down. Leeds have been in dire need for a decent No 8 ever since Pablo Hernandez left, but will a £9m price tag put them off? please log in to view this image Leeds target heading for Celtic Liverpool centre back Nat Phillips looks set to join Celtic on a season long loan. The 26yo was highly tipped to join the Whites earlier this Summer, but had a loan request turned down. The Reds made it clear that they wanted a permanent deal, but Leeds weren't keen. With a couple of days of the transfer window remaining, and little interest shown,Liverpool have few options but to sanction a twelve month agreement! please log in to view this image
Morning all The more players like Greenwood, Hjelde and Joffy go out on loan, surely that means it’s less likely we’ll lose Gnonto and Sinisterra. I’d also imagine we’ve several irons in the fire, how many we’ll sign is anyone’s guess. I think at this stage (and assuming we keep the big names) I’d be happy with 3 but expecting 2 minimum Illia Gruev is the one that’s probably key, would signing him mean Ampadu would be mainly used as a CB, an interesting last couple of days
Morning all, If Everton think Leeds are a soft touch then they clearly haven't been paying attention these last couple of weeks.
Got to say that this is all ridiculous. How does any club prepare properly for this weekend’s matches when you don’t know if the starting 11 you’ve trained all week might not be at the club the day before the game.
Morning all Who ever goes between now and 11pm goes. It's just the nature of football. Hopefully our supreme leaders have the sense of already having a list of replacement. I'm not going to comment on incomings until they're signed on the dotted line This is the crazy 48 hours of the transfer window deals are done so quick it's unbelievable. Like that guy from Stingray (kids TV show) says 'anything can happen in the next 39 minutes'
I don't think he'll move Ampadu unless he has to. The next midfielder in (Gruev?) will be competition and cover for Gray and Ampadu. Rumours are they wanted 5 in this week. Spence is 1. Might have left it too late for another 4 hence the tapping of the watch above.
I think they will do it. You've got to remember last year we were trying to get Bamba Deng and then brought in Gnonto. Under Colin we got Stephen Warnock in the last few hours of the window. **** moves really fast on the final day
Looking for ward to Saturdays game. couple of years since Ive had that feeling, had almost forgotten what it was like. God bless the championship. Well have a fair idea in next 36 hours what the 49ers are made of as owners
I'm just thinking back to the interview with Ampadu when he said he feels he is a better CB than DM but would play wherever he was asked to, it just felt that he signed as a CB, and I thought he was signed for that position but would add cover for Adams when needed. Maybe originally he was and he's just made the DM his own after doing it so well, either way nice to have options.
Trying to think have I ever seen us win live Oh wait I was at the game where we came from 3-0 down to beat Derby I think about 20 years ago
