This whole thread has degenerated into a squabble between Spurs & Arsenal fans over who has had, or will have had, the most public help with funding. Let's not forget that this whole nonsense was started because of an e-petition by bloody Michigan. One of the most notorious WUM's to plague the old 606, and this board, too.
It's pathetic that we should even be giving this idiot's wind-up's any of our time at all.

There is no evidence that public money was offered either prior or subsequent to the move, because it wasn't.

The letter isn't 'intentionally vague as to be misleading' it refers to a full disclosure contained in an attached letter from Islington's cheif exec. This letter is a simple summary referring to the other more detailed one.

The statement by Arsenal on the financing of their stadium is a full and frank breakdown of the costs, there is no mention of public money, as none was made available. There is no need to state that none was made available. It would be like saying that The Royal family of Saudi Arabia also didn't offer any money - needless, as it didn't happen.

The WRC was built by Arsenal, along with an education centre

It's not a squabble, I'm simply pointing out that at no point did Arsenal receive any public money for building the Emirates or developing the Ashburton Grove area.
In fact Arsenal made significant financial investments into the local area and community.
I also don't support any petition to lobby against Spurs receiving public money for redeveloping the area around their stadium, it badly needs investment and if some of it comes from the public purse for the good of the community, then I would support it.

There's a joke in there about Arsenal and waste management Piskie, but I can't be bothered to make it!

I'm not claiming that you're wrong, as I've already stated, so I think it's best if we leave this alone, to be honest.
It's not really relevant to anything.

Our recycling plant is actually taking waste from the Edmonton area...... there's a joke there too <whistle>

But I agree, there's no point debating it any further as there isn't really any debate on the issue. <ok>

Sorry mate, but if it looks like a squabble, and sounds like a squabble, then that's exactly what it is, in my book. However, thanks for your comments re the funding.

I'm not squabbling with anyone. Just pointing out the facts as there seems to be some misconceptions around the financing of our project. <ok>

yeah but you are and that's what's <laugh>

You have to give him some credit because as wind-ups go, this one was quite original <applause>

Piskie's information is valid, is supporting the fact Arsenal didn't get help, hence the e-petition to see if there are enough out there to feel that Spurs shouldn't either.

Oh and by the way, it's up to 5,182 therefore it has doubled from the 2,580 from when I signed SIX days ago.

    <ok>

The joke here really, is that even if 100k imbeciles get a review...do they really think MP's largely uninterested in football, are going to publicly deny money for the area. However you want to cut it, the money is to improve something in the Tottenham area post riot, which the government has already said they will do...brave man that goes against that idea.

    Epic fail. <doh>

Oh dear! Another bitter & twisted Spammer. The only reason that idiots like you are even bothering to pay any attention to a cretin like Michigan, is that he's having a go at Spurs. There is nothing original about Michigan, except in your fevered imagination. Just because WHU's cosy little arrangement with certain officials from Newham council has been exposed for what it is, you will cling to anything - no matter how pathetic, so long as it gives some satisfaction to your lust for vengeance against the perceived wrong-doings of Totteham Hotspur. Get a life, you sad sack!

Whilst I'm not sure that I'd go that far, I think that it's probably run it's course, hasn't it?
