Chanka Simba off on loan to Maidenhead in the National League.
I reckon he will score a few and come back to us a better player.

I did say Ugbo looked like a goalscorer before the season started but a few did not agree... well he has scored so what now? Apart from scoring goals apparently he does little else!

At first I was a bit surprised to see him loaned out so far down the leagues. However, given that he didn't set the world alight either at Newport or Northampton, perhaps it's the right move and as you say, he'll come back a better player. Still can't help worry that he may be learning to play down rather than stretch himself. Hope it works for all concerned.

Right we’re into the final few mad days of the window. It looks clear we need another CB. McGuiness looks our best one, the jury’s out for me on Goutas - maybe he needs time to find his feet as they say?

Up front you can’t knock Ugbo for his 3 goals but aside from that he adds not much to the team. Meite has missed 2 gilt edged chances but he may come good?

Keiffer Moore would bring so much more to the team both in the air and on the deck. I still have a hunch we’ll land him.

The city commentators today raved about the starting central midfield but to me it still needs that dominant player with creative spark and ability to drive forward with the ball. It’s not Ralls or Wintle for sure.

IMO our position is as expected in the league. 2 of those lost points at Leeds & Leicester were clawed back today.

Once the squad settles down after the window shuts I expect us to be middle table

We do not need Moore, Robinson and Ugbo can score so why put them on the bench for Moore. Then if Moore does not score who do we blame? I am not daunted with just 4 results and I expect the top six sooner or later and an automatic challenge. We do need cover at cb but that is all.

We don't have someone to hold the ball up or win flick ons. Moore gives us something different.

Ugbo clearly knows where the goal is but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a player who offers absolute zilch outside of the penalty area.

Agreed. Even Kaba who was awkward as hell did his bit in hold up play, winning the ball and linking with others.

Ugbo does well in close to goal situations but bu££er all else.

What if Moore plays and don`t score, that1s ok is it? Put a player who don`t score and leave a player who is scoring on the bench. Everyone wants a striker who scores and we got Ugbo. the team plays passing football, with Moore we will go back to lumping long balls for him to flick on to no one and hold the ball up for no one. Moore scored 20 goals for Wigan and they got relegated.

So drop Robinson and Ugbo and Meitie and play Moore as a lone striker, the problem is in defence not the attack.

Really struggling to see how Moore, who somehow managed 25 goals in 64 games under Super Mick (where he was isolated as fook), doesn’t manage to score in this team. Conversely, to your point about reverting to hoof ball, I’ve always been impressed with Moore’s touch for a big man but do think that sometimes in the Championship you need the option to go direct. Even if we do land him we’re still going to be finishing somewhere between 15th & 21st - most of the teams in this division are better than us.

Sadly, I don’t think we’ll land him so we’ll just have to confine Ugbo to the opposition’s penalty area and play with ten men <laugh>

I don't think we'll get him either. However, he would certainly be a huge asset if he did come. There's been some quality delivery into the box over the last couple of games that could have done with him being on the end of.
    Heyho.

I am expecting the defence to start keeping clean sheets and I am expecting Robinson,Ugbo and Meitie to score goals plus Ramsey,Ralls and Siopsis to dominate the midfield and they are well capable of doing that. Leeds and Leicester nearly came unstuck and we are nowhere near as good as we can be.

Anyone expecting any sort of promotion challenge with this squad has been smoking something.

Id take 4th bottom right now and if we get around 18th it will be a very good job done.

Moore is obviously miles better than any of our strikers except possibly Robinson. Im sure hes not coming here.

I would be a little surprised at this if it happens - I know he's dropped down the pecking order but he'd still be a handy squad player.

I see Erol is hoping for one, possibly two CB's by the end of the window and he still isn't saying anything about Moore's situation either but is alluding to surprises. TBF, most of his surprises have been pretty good so lets hope that trend continues...
