The lad isn't exactly happy about it either. Appears to have been misled a little. I certainly wouldn't say he has played badly when I've seen him.
I understand what Lambo is saying but I agree with you. The whole simons thing is bollocks…from his point of view he may aswell have stayed at Chelsea and gone out on loan. If Rosie rated him so highly, why not give him ago. Instead he’ll bring in another player
Rosenior needs to cut down on the waffle. Banging on about Simons developing with him to ship him out at the first chance for a new shiny toy
Would have thought any club would seek to improve what they had in a window if they had ambition. Whether that's bringing someone in or loaning a youngster out for experience. If he hasn't broken in then why keep him around when he can go and play? Didn't pull up any trees against Donny but seemed to go under the radar when the flak was getting dished out. Young players go on loan. If they do well they come back and get an opportunity. 'Twas always thus.
I suspect when he was waffling on about Simons, it was in direct response to an article being written about signing him permanently. He can hardly turn round to a journalist and say "well actually.... he's still a bit meh". Although I don't agree with it, Slater seems to be un-droppable currently so Simons needs to get out somewhere else playing.
If Simons was currently pressing for a place then Slater would be less undroppable, and we wouldn't be looking at bringing in Morton, I'm sure.
You could say that about our goalkeepers, why sign Lo Tua, why bother with youth goalkeepers? They must know they’re not going to get in the first team.
Why bother with an academy at all? Why is all the focus on Simons when Vaughan was mentioned as going out also? After all he's closer to the first team than Simons is currently. Are we 'pissing him about' too?
