Could there be a new attendance record at St Mary's on Saturday??

Just 1,300 tickets left for Brighton, according to Saints website. That would be some acheivement, setting 2 attendance records in a season (and possibly more). Sales are matching West Ham sales at this time so it should be another complete sell out.

Oh and by the way, the description for the FLS on Saturday is:

Manish Bhasin presents highlights and analysis from the npower Championship, with fixtures including high-flying Southampton's clash with Brighton and Hove Albion.

After securing promotion from League One in 2010, both teams have made an excellent start to life back in the Championship. Gus Poyet's Brighton are sure to find it difficult considering Southampton's home form - Nigel Adkins' Saints have a perfect record at St Mary's, with eight wins out of eight.

Looks like its the main game on FLS (as I predicted ;) )

Lovely! You can't beat a packed out St Marys. It's going to be noisy that's for sure!

I'm guessing that there will be a larger segregation for this game than there was vs West Ham, and thus fewer seats for sale - and thus a sell-out vs Brighton will not be as big as a sell-out vs West Ham.

Good point, that will probably end the chances of another record. Oh well, a Saints win is all that matters!

I do have a bone to pick about the BBC. It says that both sides have had excellent starts to the Championship. How dare they put Brighton in the same bracket as Saints. Brighton are midtable, 13 points behind Saints and they were tipped for promotion more than Saints were at the start of the season! <laugh>

For a small League One side, albeit one that is growing, Brighton have made an excellent start. For a former Premier League side, that is trying to get back to the Promised Land in the shortest possible time, it is also an excellent start. You see, they can be both the same, and yet different too. ;)
