He's been very impressive at Cardiff and Luton as a right wing back. He's quick, can whip a cross in and his defensive work is less important because both Cardiff and Luton played 3 centre halves when he was there. Its also important to note that he was the most dribbled past defender in the league in the 2nd half of last season. It indicates that he is good in a free-er role on that right side but defensively poor. We play a bit differently to those sides in that we play 2 centre halves usually with the left back sitting deeper than Ayling has on the right. Strangely, the way Ayling has pushed on this season would suit Dramah but Farke has obviously preferred Ayling so far. His problem last Saturday was he was put on the left against their best player and asked to defend him. You'd think he'd be OK with that because he's a defender but really he was skinned more times than anyone else last season so it should have been no surprise that he struggled. That's Farkes fault btw. He's not Mr Perfect as some are starting to believe. Farke himself said it wasn't Cody Dramehs fault and took responsibility. I agree with him. It was Farkes fault, 100%. The poor backpass was the result of having a right footed ****ing left back instead of a ****ing left footed ****ing left back. Buy a ****ing left back you **** of a club.

But he could have kicked the ball off with his left foot and we would have gone in 3-1 up. Farke isn’t Mr. Perfect (who is?) but he is decisive and pulled Drameh pretty quickly. We seem to be actively looking for a right back so like all our previous managers / coaches he is clearly not rated. My point was who has seen enough from him to say he should be playing instead of Ayling?
I've seen enough of him to say he is a very very good wing back at this level. We don't play with wing backs so that's prolly why he is behind Ayling.
