I said a month back that Newcastle had overloaded the side with safe easy to manage players and just lack a bit of flair and I stand by that. I'm sure they'll add such players in a year or 2, but I was expecting one or 2 this summer and they haven't done it. There's no spark anywhere it's a top half squad though which is probably the aim right now.
Left back is covered Hall is very good . Agree we need a rw and a cm but they've got to be very good players and they can't afford it
Strange decision looking at it now but I thought they'd bring in a rw aswel at the time. I think Newcastle are just unable to afford to do everything now and did the best they could. In another 4 years nufc will be what people think they are now.
He was about £10million more than Barnes. Should have stretched for him instead, but was probably deemed riskier as no Premier League experience.
And, I would guess, also on higher wages and there is that element of compliance with UEFA's rules also to take into account.
I got wasted last night on that. Got a bit seasick as we anchored offshore. So drank loads of gin which helped me as a stabiliser. When I get off the boat though I feel a bit fuzzy headed as my feet touch land. Anyone else found this whilst cruising?
Chiesa must be coming now we've offloaded hayden. Pfft newcastle are miles away from Chiesa or anyone even remotely as exciting
Fergies United was bang average until they added the flair and spark of Cantona. We are about 6 players behind them like so it has nothing to do with us, but still, you do need that wild card player in your squad to get anywhere.
Yep and Guimareas really isn't that... he gets caught on the ball regularly in dangerous positions and despite Burn being blamed it was Guimareas that was at fault as usual. He's a good player but he's not as good as I thought when he signed.
I agree. I think he's about a top 10 player, he can be slow, doesn't find the passes he attempts, can't tackle as well as Joelinton. Doesn't do as much as Tonali. He's actually, of the three, the weak link in my opinion. Everyone jumped on Joelinton last game, but I thought he made some key interceptions. I'm rattling my brain, what did Bruno actually do all game except get caught out and **** it up? I've been meh on Bruno ever since he got made to look a child by Casemiro. It was that midfield battle and Bruno losing it that sealed our fate in that cup final.
I think if we beat Brighton everyone will be happy enough again, but we have missed a real ****ing golden opportunity this weekend and it's just a shame. I'm getting angrier by the reaction of Newcastle United. Who instead of focusing on the result, our performance and more specifically, the managers performance; have decided to instead start claiming that Liverpool should have had 9 on the pitch, not 10. Because if we were playing against 9, THEN we would have won. What a joke.
