I don't accept it being a lot to ask to fight for third, many on the grid would be very motivated with that. I don't know if it is motivation or edge. However you are right, George is failing to deliver. Are Mercedes missing James Vowles who seems to be doing a good job with Williams. I am not anticipating a Mercedes revival, be nice if they could bring it to Red Bull and Max but.....
Apologies, I may not have been particularly clear. I meant specifically for Hamilton third’s are pretty meaningless, I think he’s only really here in the hope of another shot of the championship and I do get that given his other interests it’s understandable if he’s not giving F1 his total focus (you could argue he should just retire then and I’d probably agree). Totally agree that most should be fighting tooth and nail for third, as Alonso and Norris are. George for example, has no real excuse, he still has it all to prove.
