After a decent start, for me brings very little in quality, very little going forward. The Andy Hughes of this team. A very likable player, but not good enough
Yes. He's worth playing alongside Clayton and Howson in a three-man central midfield and offers good cover in all the wide positions. 500k isn't that much considering how much we know we have in the bank.
Wakey, hope your well fella Tough call. Pugh is versitle (maybe helps to add to the Hughesy tag) & playing him lets Aidy White of the leash going forward. He's scored two from corners as well (not a strong point for us) Maybe as Loiner said, playing him in a 3 man centre midfield we may see something more from him. Or the players around him may benefit from his style If we dont go in for him, its still a position we need filling & I disagree with Kissa about Watt. The potential is there but I dont think he will ever live up to it, 1 good game every now & again & he seems to be made of glass.
Definitely, but not as a Gradel replacement, so I don't really see Watt as a natural alternative. Pugh's versatile and has shown he has enough quality to play in the PL, if only as a squad player. He provides balance when we play 4-4-2, allowing Aidy White to make runs down the wing, and would be a good option for a 3 man central midfield.
You do know that nearly nothing has been created down that wing since he came. And simon, he aint anywhere near prem quailty.
Interesting that Ken Bates said that Jason Puncheon had practically signed for us but turned us down at the last second, However, on Twitter last night someone asked him the question "How close where you to signing for Leeds" He said "Not even close"
that doesnt suprise me one bit Kissa. Wouldnt have wanted Punchy anywhere near us anyway. Terrible attitude. Great ablilty though when he is on form. Wakey, I'm good mate Want to go back to Amsterdam next year so just trying to plan how I can justify that. Probably will have to take the kids & mrs away too (obviously not to the dam though!)
Pugh isn't a replacement to Gradel. Doesn't give any width, although does add balance. Would be a decent squad player, and in a midfield 3 with Howson and Clayton. However, we get investment in the squad, so to spend £500k on him would be a waste unless we spend more to improve the squad.
bates can tell a bloody lie---and believe it himself----the dirty liying bastard---an his muppet larry believes him----prick
Pugh isnt a replacement for gradel, but i dont think we necessarilly need to replace gradel for a like for like player. I think danny pugh is the right type of player to be playing on the left side but not the right player. Personally i think Johnson would have been perfect to play there (and i was saying it while he was here as well) but thats in the past now. I wouldn't spend 500k on pugh though, i'd be looking at other options but from what i've heard the deal is already done.
Good squad player... but not first choice unless three man midfield. like Watt...again back up but could develop..needs to bulk up a bit!
