My brother's a Luton fan and while I appreciate the humility, you're not losing to Luton. I know, I've seen them plenty of times. They might surprise a few of the lesser teams but not the big boys. Let's face it - if that's at Anfield, and Liverpool are in our position, you're never losing the game. You'd be utterly ruthless and get the second goal (at least), and it's done. I'd say the same for almost every side with ambitions for top 4/6 (with the possible exception of Spurs, at least on past evidence). And I expect none of them would persist with a useless ****er like Almiron either. Couldn't Liverpool have just come up and rolled us over 3-0? Or we'd been ****ed over by the officials or some ****? Far easier to stomach.
He'll think twice about doing that again As Magdad said How the **** have they got tickets considering the new ticketing policy was designed to stop that
We are going to have to turn up in a final of these times because we aren't gonna challenge for the league for another 5 years or so. I've got to be honest after the league cup i worry about the next final, i hope Howe isn't one of these "nearly" managers.
Obviously you've not read my posts. I'm simply aware the bubble from last season is burst and saying that's a challenge howe has now.
Newcastle were 4th best last season and so what really .. do they have the 4th best squad? No . I don't expect top 4 it's all good and to be expected ironically. Like you say 5 years it'll be looking different.
Anyone can sign up to be a member, you don't have to prove who you support and an away fan has as much chance of getting a ticket as a die hard NUFC fan, it's probably that.
We are all just desperate to win a trophy, the non performance in the final still pisses me off a bit tbh.
On reflection, very simple: - Klopp had tactics, Howe didn't; they stuck at 4-3-2 before changing to 4-2-3 later in the game, and won. We - for the second game in a row - play a rigid 4-3-3, subbing like for like and it makes not a ****ing lick of difference. - Not only do we not have tactics, the thinking is very Bruce-esque and pre-defined; 60th min, take off Gordon for Barnes and Isak for Wilson. 5 mins later, Tonali for Longstaff. Then bring on some other like for likes - Targett for Burn/Botman, Anderson for Joelinton. Where's the variety, the changes needed? - We have avoided adventurous transfers in favour of "proven" workhorses; but how have Diaby, Torres, Maddison, Szoboszlai, etc., fared vs Barnes, Gordon, Livramento and Hall? Tonali is the only player we've bought who looks genuinely decent. There's a mentality permeating this club, of comfort and low expectations. It's way better than Ashley's survival medicocrity, but that doesn't mean it's acceptable when you have infinite funds, a £20m shirt sponsor, a massive deal from Adidas, and plans to be "number one". Today was ****ing inexcusably bad.
Forget trophies they've got little to no chance with this group. There's at least 6 better squads and several that are just good if not better. Last season was it that was the chance because a few bigger clubs were below par. Newcastles plan is a 10 year plan and that hasnr changed because we came 4th once. It won't be easy but we have to accept this is big job.
Bollocks. If you spend £300m and finish 4th, you should NEVER "expect" to be beaten by a 10-man Liverpool who were playing badly. Have you watched the documentary? The plan isn't "do well, then fade away for a bit".
Genuinely don’t think you are that far off But agree you need a bit more (so do we) Enjoy CL been a long time coming I tipped EH to be first to go this season I hope I am wrong However - I think you sort of over performed or a few others under performed maybe combo of both Either way - you finished in top 4 on merit but with that finish comes raised expectations that said I have tipped spurs for 6th and been talked to about it lol I think EH will be victim of last years success but I think you will bring in a proven CL manager next- whenever it may be
I thought when they went down to 10 men i was going to have a great evening and be able to take the piss out of liverpool. ****s sake.
