The defence was a mess (which unfortunately the officials aren't to blame for) even before the Red

I think we need to look at replacing 3 of the 4 CB's, and that includes VvD.

 

Shame. Was an interesting game for first 15 minutes.

Ref gives clear free to TAA doesn’t book him. Doesn’t then rule everyone up for Gordon’s theatrical fall which everyone thinks is another yellow.

Then sends off vvd for not only winning the ball, somehow stopping a clear goal scoring chance which I’m not sure how it would be as if twckle isn’t made, guys running wide on his left foot.

vvd clearly does make contact with the player and the ball but red card? rubbish.

we have diaz sat 10 to 20 yards back defending and not pressing but bother macallister and Szoboszlai miles up. it's all nonsense.

 

Years of lack of investment in the squad coming home to roost. Reality is that we need serious investment.

 

Even before the red card, our midfield was getting bullied off the ball, the referee was letting a lot of fouls go and he has made this a non contest now with that red card
