He does need to work on looking after the ball but I do think he gets picked on more than Ekwah for example. They both make mistakes and they're the same age but Ekwah gets a free pass. Understandably, neither player should be dealing with heavy criticism given their age and experience.
Decent day out yesterday. Think we’d have won the game with a proper forward on the pitch from the off.
Didn't seem to work for Coventry. There's a few posts, related to Dan Neil, suggesting Ekwah gets a free pass ... ...a quick look through this thread suggests otherwise.
Good point and a lot of positives to take imo. Ballard and onien, proper defending that, thought as a team especially first half, we defended our box so well. Thought we were the better team second half, final ball wasn’t there though and Roberts was a miss. Neil again impressed for me, just looks so confident, even trying to take people on around the box now, nearly got a pen from it. I genuinely believe we’re a couple of players from being a really top side
Ekwah and Neil criticised equally throughout the game but yet again the discussion afterwards is about is Neil any good. Sparked yet again, by you, of course. That's why Ekwah 'gets a free pass'.
P Yes, of course It's a chat forum for people to express their opinions ... ... not only the ones you agree with. And no one is forced to respond.
Yes, I agree. I think that probably applies to the Ipswich and Preston games too. Wider though, I'd reserve my criticism for any player who isn't really putting it in. And whatever the flaws of any of the players, I don't see that now, and that's the main thing for me.
Enjoyed my day at the match yesterday, thought everyone put in a great effort, including us fans. Thought we defended well, not going to single any player out for criticism, most made the odd mistake but you could see they are becoming more of a team and sweating for the shirt. A bit more luck and WE could have had a ‘lucky’ deflected goal. Oh, and glad we didn’t pay £8m for Sims
I wish Clarke rolled it across at the end to hemir or Prichard. Would have been an easy finish for the big 3 points.
Apparently loads of unsold tickets out of the three thousand as well. A bit worrying for a Saturday 3pm kick off.
I think it's a combination of things. Their forum (not that they're a particularly nice lot) was expecting a low turn out from us as a boycott to the ticket prices, £25 for kids and so on. It looks like they've really hiked up the prices for category A games. In the middle if a cost of living crisis, it's not the most sensible thing to hike prices and not think there'd be any blowback. Also after the agro and bad feeling in the last few years, they were concerned that we'd take less as people might be less inclined to take kids in case there was more bother. Personally, I'm glad we didn't give them much of our cash
The back end of the summer holiday period is when people are most skint, and this is also the end of the month before payday .. ... I always see more games in the second half of the season, pointless spending all your 'budget' while things are settling down. And Coventry is a poor away day tbh, out of town ground with no atmosphere, scruffy spread out town and even scruffier supporters.
Didn’t watch the match as I was out all day yesterday, fair few comments giving Ba ****e on here as well as twitter but nobody mentioned this..
It doesn't look like Hemir is shouting for the ball, to be fair*. Probably hasn't got the confidence to shout Clarke for the pass yet compared to someone like Dack who'd be screaming for it. Early days for the team and for the new players. * Look at Hemir's body language and shape on the photo
