The very nature of our being exists because as Humans we can recognise, colour, race and creed. Small minded and politically motivated fools have created this monster and given it a name-racism. The more you try and curb the free thinking and thought process of the individual, the more you increase and contribute to the problem. They tried to ban booze in the states and what happened, more people got drunk than ever and alchohol related crime increased. Blatter is not a racist, he is an idiot-granted but not a cross burning racist as the English media want you to think. I do not believe in descimination of any kind. But non whites seem to be portrayed as the epitome of this evil not capable of holding a free thought for themselves and have to be constantly reminded that it is they that only hold this view. Its not. If truth be told and souls be searched, I have seen terrible racism from other creeds that dig deeper into our society than any heat of the moment outburst by John Terry. Do you know what Europe thinks about Blatters comment-Nothing.
When you are a public figure T, you have to take responsibility for your comments and these were made in an official interview so should have been well considered thoughts and also appropriate for publication. Blatter may/may not be a racist but his comments were by any standards inappropriate for a person in his position, so he should go. Somebody somewhere has to the first to make a stand on world issues (the UK did on slavery long before it was abolished in the US) and with regard to racism in football the UK is one of the leaders and should feel proud of this! It does not have a place in any sport/society, so if somebody loses their job due to their own stupidity then we should feel happy that there is one less idiot running a world sport rather than trying to defend him.
Then are you saying his thought as an individual do not matter? he is not entitled to make them? If your saying his thoughts should have reflected the views of the body he represents then why are the rest of the world not jumping up and down to get shot of him????? Where's the views of the African nations? I would like to hear what they say when they hear they might lose their best source of income. We englsih operate a rather dominating atitude to race, we smooze up to them and now we even speak for them!!!! We cant take our ball back anymore.
I don't think blatter is a racist, simply an idiot. But I think AH has summed it up about being in that position of power. Denying there is racism can give the mindset that the figurehead of Fifa doesn't see annual monkey chants against British teams in Spain, Russia etc... Or calling some one a black **** as being racist. Same with terry, I don't think he IS a racist, but made a racist remark and deserves to be punished. Blatter has caused hurt to the game that he runs, he should resign.
Having met Anton Ferdinand I am sure he was black. I also though he was a **** Am I a racist? or do I have to combine those words to cause offence? If so, I question the racial intention of his comment. Sepp blater is an old man and so is my Grandad who says much the same thing. Should I tell grandad to stop working and fire the 12 men he has working for him?
T, Blatter loves being the public spokesperson for FIFA so NO he is not entitled (in an official event) to voice his own feelings, at a private party that's fine but NOT on American television. If he wants to make his own feelings known then he should resign and then he can make any legal comments he wishes to the press but until then he is a FIFA Official and should act in such a manner. We all know that the majority of FIFA representatives are not there to represent their Country's best interests but have other priorities so do not expect any public hanging of Blatter from within, African led or otherwise

THIS IS EXACTLY MY POINT!!!! Racism only come into play when it suits the individual needs. This is what Blatter stumbled upon. so if a black person met you and thought you was a **** and said you were a white **** you would not question why the word white was used? The race of someone does not need to be used like that at all! if Terry wasnt being racist he wouldnt need to highlight that Anton is black, THAT IS THE POINT!!! There was no need to throw the colour of someones skin into a slur like that...thats what made it a racist remark, and totally unneccesary.
I am sorry but you are pre-supposing that I consider the word 'black' to be offensive. To combine the two words merely gives the abuser more gravitas to the insult and is not necerssarily racist (you have to prove intent). For example as Franco helpfully pointed out he is a fatty. That is what I see before me a fat ****, my immediate and possibly instinctive response to calling him a name if he booted my shins is Oi FAT **** I do not regard fatness as an insult otherwise if I did I would have not got laid for the last 12 years. If you think the word black is an insult and was used to hurt, then he had much more powerful words to use in his vocabulary. He called it as he saw it.
The difference is Franco, you were not born waistline challenged... to insult somebody just because of the colour of their skin/hair/height is, in modern times, not acceptable. If you were playing against somebody with learning difficulties would it be acceptable for you to make comments about his/her level of education? Would it be acceptable to call somebody with downs syndrome a "stupid ****" no of course you wouldn't so where is the line?
the difference is that black on its own is not a slur, use it with other words it can be, its all in context, and theres a massive difference between being fat nad being black, people are born black.
Bit different mate. Fat people didn't fight the same problems as black people. If I got called a "white ****" by someone black, Asian whatever, I'd assume they'd be saying it in a context that was trying to be detrimental to a race. But maybe that's just me?
I am sorry but I cannot let that one pass. what problems do black people fight that fat people do not? Fat people (or big boned) have enoumous prejuduices like not being able to boad flights or get treatment in NHS hospitals? Do companies specifically advertise for fatties? like they do for black people? Do employers reject fat people on sight becuase they make the company look bad, erm yes. If getting called a black **** for booting someone in the shins means I get to the front of the job/hospital queue then I am a massive one.

People say things in the heat of the moment, but are not inherently racist, sexist, homophobic etc. I have yet to meet the perfect human. Blatter is a pranny who needed to be put out to pasture a long time ago. His comments just go to show why a new fresh face is needed at the very top of football. The way all these middle-class molly-coddlers jump on the racism bandwagon makes me laugh. Half of our politicians have inherited fortunes made off of the back of black exploitation. Country homes in the Cotswolds do not pay for themselves. Furthermore, how many white liberals would truly be happy if a family of blacks moved in next door to them, or if their daughters brought home black boyfriends with their underwear on show? Not many. I am an honest person who calls a spade a spade. The world would be a better place if were a little more open about our beliefs and opinions. As for slavery; that is just a lazy excuse for black crime. There is not a black person alive who suffered from slavery. Get over it, I say.
