Konate will be a big miss if he is unfit. His injury record is not great, this is why we need a back up but endo can do anything, right?
as i said, a real option. Matip will be eaten alive and poor old joe looks like he's shot through in confidence terms. we know we need to again look to the future of the CB area. 2 seasons ago we ended 4th after injuries to CBs. we destroyed fabinho at the time. VVD was never really the same Gomez has certainly never been the same Matip is shot through and is so injury print its untrue We bought Konate. He is also injury prone. We said we end from no cbs to whatever number. in reality we bought one single CB for 34 mil and kept net spend low and here we are again with the same issues of injury prone players. Its hardly like nobody has been point this out over time either, just about everyone has pointed it out on here. Klopp's just alluded to Quansah as an excuse not to buy. I'd flip that totally. MATIP is the reason to buy. he shouldnt even be there sitting about waiting for his contract to run down. Same for phillips. We should be clearing the path and buying for now, such that if a kid is good enough there will be opportunities but we've a rock solid set of options. we simply don't have that.
Shame about Konate but I'm just glad we learnt from previous mistakes and are going into this season with a fully prepared squad.
We can pack the midfield too, though I don't know how that would work. Playing five in midfield is not our system.
