Not sure who you mean <whistle>

Tbf Woody was a fanboy who spent most of his summers trying to sign a galacticos. If he was still around we'd have been chasing after Mbappe for the past 3 months!

Then probably ended up signing Neymar for £100m with a £400k per week salary.

GF has a good point on this. Why did we spend time and money getting Mount and not be as targeted as possible in tying up deals that we needed the most? We had too many players in the squad that can do as good or even better job than Mount.

And in other news - Brentford has placed £80m price on Toney with Arsenal and Tottenham looking to bid. How did we not go for that guy eight months ago? It was too good of an option to pass up too.

Luke Shaw is out for several weeks. Hopefully Alvaro Fernandez gets to stay and not go on loan.

Well probably because of the impending ban!

No reason* we still can't in January, with hopefully new owners in place and money available.

*well, there is a reason. That would be if the Glazers are still there.

We should have actually gone for him when the ban was announced. It would have given us a leverage and bring him on in January which still gives us decent chance of him making an impact in the season.

Bet we could have bought him this window for the same money we paid for a certain midfielder. He could have fully integrated with the squad and be needle sharp by the time his ban is up.

Anyone heard about a planned sit in protest tomorrow after the game because of the lack of activity/information about the proposed sale of the club?

Read something about that a week or so ago, but nothing more recent

Edit - Just read that the 1958 group (/) are planning an hour long sit-in after the Forest game

****ing rediculouse if true, we have two injured LBs but as far as i know they are not season onding, we also have Fernandez who could do a job and we have just let Williams go who did the job well enough for nearly a full season in a ****e defence/team.

The other thing to note is these injuries off the field. There's something going on in training that's worrying. The players also look knackered during games. Something's off.

Especially as they were very lively during pre-season.

Looks like Palace are about to buy Henderson for £20m, that ought to be enough for us top get the deal done for Amrabat.

Maguire being looked at again by west ham - the so called 'I want to stay at united and fight for my place' actually appears to be - United haven't offered me enough of a cash lump sum to compensate me for the drop in wages' - just **** of Maguire

Great news about Henderson if true.

And yeh I heard Maguire wanted £7m to leave. Another bloody leech. Having said that, it was our fault for signing him up on a fat packet AND a 6 yr deal <doh>

I suspect the six year deal was in order to spread the FFP liability, the club being able to write off 1/6th of his value each year as opposed to thinking him such a valuable player that we would need his services for that period of time. Long deals were the thing at that time, Chelsea still have a ton of them on their books which is why they can throw money at deals at the moment, it's all percentages.....

Did we need it for FFP? Chelsea's revenue is minor compared to ours, and I can't think of anyone else we've done that long a deal?

I just put it down to Woodward's incompetence <laugh>

Maguirew has been told (from a public point of view) that he can still play his way back into the team, we all know he's not capable of that.
He is a very good CB for the right team but is too exposed in a high line, Lindeloff is about equal as a defender but much faster.
Daft as it sounds i was quite happy when Verane got replaced at half time yesterday because we were getting murdered by pace, he came in for the second half and stopped most of that.

All the players they have bought this window are on stupidly long contracts for the same reason, great if you get the right players, a millstone if you get duds.

I don't think Lindeloff is ideal but he does the job (with Lisandro next to him) better than Maguire. I can see why ETH wants Todibo or another CB.
