Maddison is already the early contender for signing of the season and the confidence Bissouma has been given to be replicate his Brighton form makes such a huge difference. He was one of the best CMs in the league at Brighton when we signed him and he’s becoming as such again.

It’s only our front line that’s letting us down, in particular one of them and it doesn’t even come as surprise. We cannot afford to end this window without a new first choice striker, Ange is already delivering so much promise, give him a striker who can actually impact games and we’re gonna be a real ****ing problem this season.

I know this is a peculiar comparison to make, but Pape Sarr reminds me of Patrick Vieira. Without the random kicking, stamping and elbowing of opponents and the screaming in referee's faces.

Ive heard of that comparison before

he does have that Viera about him some Yaya in there too I’d say

A top front three is out of the question, but a front three of Kulusevski (Hold up striker TBD of, say, Mitrovic level) Perisic would be an enormous improvement.

If we get a hold up/ link up CF then I think that’ll bring out the best in Sonny. A Firmino-esque CF would be amazing in this set up in my opinion.

Failing that, go and spend on Orban or David.

Just a question but has Ange got Spurs playing with more fluidity and interchanging positions than the stereotypes of Mourinho and Conté? Good luck for the season. Tottenham have been in the relative backwaters of the PL for far too long.

Weirdly one of the big questions looming on the horizon is whether Bentancur slots straight back into the team and if so, whose position does he take?

It's a nice problem to have, for a change.
