I just feel the set up is all wrong! Is Mousinho scared of losing with having two defensive midfielders? I would have droped Morrell to bench, had Saydee up front alongside Bishop, Sparkes out left, Robertson in the centre and Whyte on the right as an attacking midfield trio. And how come we can score 3 goals in a cup competition but nada in the League. 1 goal in the last three games is appalling!!
Attempt missed. Conor Shaughnessy right footed shot from outside the box is close, but misses to the right. Assisted by Marlon Pack following a corner. 81 minutes.
Final whistle. 0-0 draw. That's a club record 16th consecutive league match undefeated for us. Should have been a win though !
Final Match Stats:- Home Team: Stevenage............ Away Team: Portsmouth Possession: Home 31% Away 69% Shots: Home 11 Away 12 Shots on Target: Home 2 Away 1 Corners: Home 2 Away 7 Fouls: Home 10 Away 12
How many have been draws Woopert's? And one shot on target? Absolute sterility! If I went to the Fratton Park, I think I would boo Morrell. Seems to do very little creating, doesn't score, gets booked or sent off. Same with Pack who does score the rare goal. We have a proven goalscorer in Bishop at thisl level and the team are not feeding him or supporting him. Wonder who the club will get through in this final week of the transfer window, if anyone.
Thanks Woopert's! It is grim reading! One shot on target!! As usual more cards than goals so no surprise there, then!
I don't get managers that are so scared of losing? I kind of understand it in certain situations (like if you're on a losing streak and you need to steady the streak) but after a while draws start to feel like losses and when you're on a long undefeated streak, surely at that point it's fine to take a risk We seem to have been cursed by ultra defensive managers in recent years
Two drawn games in a row which we should have won. Last season we drew too many. Given that a win and a loss would have gained a point more, shouldn't we be playing a more attacking game?
