This weekend we’re off to Huddersfield and the John Smith’s stadium for round 4 of the Championship. Huddersfield have just a single point so far this campaign. Their season started with losses to Plymouth and Leicester, followed by a draw last weekend at Middlesbrough, leaving them down in 21st position. Norwich’s record against Huddersfield is favourable. Huddersfield haven’t picked up a win against Norwich for over 6 years (since they did the double over us during the 16/17 season), scoring just twice to Norwich’s 13 goals during that period. Huddersfield fans have seen a couple of significant transfers: two inbound loans in the form of Tom Edwards (RB) from Stoke and Deano Burgzorg (AM) from Mainz. Going the other way, the Terriers sold Camara to Udinese and there’s been plenty of speculation about Jordan Rhodes being surplus to Neil Warnock’s requirements and a likely move is on the cards there too. Confirmed Terriers sidelined this weekend include: David Kasumu, Tom Lees and Oliver Turton. Last season’s equivalent fixture (just a few months ago in March) was a 1-1 draw featuring a superb finish from Sara and a justified head scratch as to kit choices on the day. Can you remember which Norwich player was sent off in that game? Norwich dominate the Whoscored player ratings between these two teams with just one Huddersfield player in the combined top 10 – Keeper: Lee Nichols. Form guides suggest, much like the Millwall game, that this should be a Norwich victory, but you know what they say about statistics. DW summary from press conference: Onel out till after international break, Saintz and Tomkinson similar timeframe now. Placheta back and ready. Pedro Lima not considered for the 1st team at the moment. Fingers and toes crossed please everyone. Here’s hoping for another exciting performance from Norwich and 3 more points! OTBC
You've excelled yourself this time Hairy - well done. Having read Warnock's views, they're clearly wary of us after our unbeaten start. Given how we played at Southampton, I'm hopeful that our tactics this season will suit playing away games, which is crucial in a push for promotion. Placheta returning offers another option at LB and/or WL to make up for Hernandez being out. It's likely Rowe and Fassnacht will start though. Great news that Sainz is on his way back for after the international break. Things are looking good (he says, reaching out for a bit of wood to touch).
Their highest rated player is the keeper, so I assume he has had a lot to do. Let's give him a lot more.
Unchanged from last week, Placheta and Forshaw make the bench in place of Fisher and Warner who both played for the u23s last night
Hopefully, this game will be nothing more than a formality. If we play as per the last 3 league games, it should not be a problem
