Yeh think we all assume the legal issue will have been around release clause not employer pension contributions or holiday entitlement… but the big difference is Sini didn’t down tools, Farke took him out whilst it was resolved.
It was reported that a bid (Brentford)was made for him. We don’t know exactly when that was made, we also know Chelsea then Bournemouth were bidding for Adams. We also suspect that we needed a big earner to leave and a mega wedge of cash to help rebuild. Adams had apparently told the club he was happy to stay. Maybe, just maybe, Sinis next match/goal would trigger a payment to PSV (or whoever we bought him from), as part of the purchase deal. Once Adams went then the pressure was off. But I got the impression from Farke, that whereas he was clearly angry with Gnonto, he didn’t seem so with Sini. Anyway that’s my conspiracy theory and I’m sticking to it
Why? They are both back in the squad and James is not fit. Just play the best players and if the rest of the squad bitch then feck it.
Didn't down tools but let it be known he was finding it difficult to be 100% focused. Maybe just smarter or better advised ?
I saw it reported that Brentford had asked to take him on loan, we refused as we would sell for a fee only. Suspect he had a loan clause that expired and the legal wrangle was whether Brentford had approached us in time to have triggered it?
Sinni and baby gnonto both made themselves not avaliable by slightly different methods. The outcome though was the same both Farked off to train seperate. Our coach was having non of it and i applaud him. Would i use them today? Damn right i would they are being paid.
Get the feeling Farke will improve Gnonto. Cutting out the petty complaining and uneccessary pushing and shoving of opponents would be the easiest place to start.
The clause that I heard reported was a "termination" clause. Nobody can seem to clarify what that actually meant but it required legal teams to have a long look at it. It's resolved now and its widely understood that if someone wants Sinisterra now then it would command a very hefty fee. The kind of fee that only Saudi clubs are offering at the moment. Of course that could change in January when relegation threatened clubs might gamble £35 million on one player trying to save their season.
I know i saw him v Cardiff having a moan at the linesman. Just once though which was an improvement. He is just a young lad inside.
Totally agree but personally I would keep Gnonto away today and test fans reaction on Tuesday. If our fans are hostile to him, and some definitively will be, it would likely have a negative impact on the whole team imo
I agree. I don’t believe he should walk straight back into the squad, I’d love him to and he could be the difference between 0 and 3 points however, walk back in and cause more squad unrest when we’re just getting on top of it and the damage would be much more than 3 points I believe Gnonto and Piroe will be on the bench, possibly Sinisterra. Send Gnonto to warm up and stretch a few times in front of our fans and judge the reaction. Use him on Tuesday and judge it from there Barring injuries this will hopefully be the last time we’re not at our strongest, if we win it will be a bonus but it’s after today that I believe results and performances will improve
Why protect Gnonto? Bench him today but bring him on at the end and let the fans vent. Play him Tuesday at Salford and let the fans vent. Leaving it until we play at home will make it worse.
Absolutely could be as simple as that Jambo I agree… but apparently everyone is sold on Farke being the new messiah and Farke claims to consider the two cases to be very different. He didn’t tell Sini to man up and play… and he says it was entirely his decision to exclude him. Probably an unbelievable hard decision but he showed his leadership.
If any fans vent whilst he's warming up or on the pitch then they're ****ers. Time to get behind him and show him what a great club he plays for.
Exactly. Do we want to give the team the best opportunity for promotion or vent at Gnonto and show him that some of the fans are as childish as he is.
You've been around long enough to know that he will get an amount of fury from some of the fan base. I wouldnt boo him, I'd just give him the silent treatment. You know, the old "I'm not upset, I'm just disappointed in you!" treatment. I'm still in the camp of selling the little **** or sit him in the 21's for the remainder of his contract but it's very much 'side before self' and so long as the other players embrace him back among the squad then fair enough. Sacking his agent and apologising publicly to the fans might help him settle back in if he genuinely wants to stay. My gut says he only apologised to Farke because Everton pulled away from the deal and he was left in no man's land. He'll always be a little **** in my eyes.
That's fine as you don't have to chant his name or whatever if you don't wish to and if that's what the travelling support choose to do then so be it. However any negative chanting or booing goes totally against what fans are there to do, which is support the team.
