I could be wrong. I'm not saying he will recover but he has every chance to do it. All comes down to how bad the injury has affected him. Tufan looked a yard past it when he arrived and now I'd argue he's one of the fitter ones in the squad.
Great finish from Tufan tonight but otherwise he didn’t seem as sharp as usual. Seemed a bit slower in thought and action.
Might thoughts on tonight, for what they are worth... Don't think Greaves should play at left back, he doesn't get forward enough to support the winger and isn't great defensively at full back. I do think he is better than Macca though at centre half. I thought Allayhar would have caused problems coming on for Traore second half, the fact he didn't makes me think he is going. I thought we took Delap off way too early, he is a much better option than Oscar. Better wingers coming in will cause a real headache for Liam, Tufan, Traore and Slater may all struggle to get a place in a couple of weeks.
Just goes to show you’ve got to have most of your players at the top of their game to win a game in the Championship Too many below par tonight which resulted in the deserved draw. It was an ok performance but I think we were all desperate for a razzmatazz display to match the uptick in the quality of our transfer targets. A win, top of of the league and an exciting end to the transfer window would have been an amazing start to the weekend. Unfortunately, I think we’re all left feeling a little bit ‘meh’.
Hello London, Here are the results of the currently residing in Fuerteventura jury. McLoughlin . . . . .nil points Estupinian ....... nil points. Tactics . . . . . . .nil points The Twelve points go to ............. Me ,for even bothering to drag my arse out of the casino to find, what was to be fair a decent. stream. McLoughlin and Estupinian lack the quality to be in a just above average team. Sorry.
Fair point, as far as I see at the moment, Slater/Twine/Traore/Greaves are all playing out of position, mainly due to circumstances. Slater is better further forward, Traore is better centrally, as is Twine and Greaves to a lesser extent is better at Centre back. But we desperately need an enforcer in midfield alongside Seri
Personally, I think 7 points after 4 games is a reasonable start to the season. As yet, the side looks unbalanced, and too many players playing out of position, as I said in my post above. The team as yet is not fully formed, and needs to have square pegs in round holes. Traore and Twine are not wingers, Slater is better further forward, and Greaves needs to move to centre back in place of Macca. As mentioned, we need a defensive midfielder as a priority. On the game, we did what we did at Blackburn with the sending off, once we scored we took our foot off the pedal, we have to learn to kick on. Delap had another good game and a great ball for Tufan to score, no one really stood out, but as already discussed the midfield is where most attention is now needed, particularly without the ball. Nevertheless, BC are not a bad side, well coached by NP, so in a game that either side could have won and draw was a fair result. In the past we would have probably lost that game, so a bit of patience is needed to complete the incomings and outgoings, then we can see how the team is looking.
well I mean a monkey with a blindfold on could have done more with this team then Shota, he solidified us yes but just aren’t sure if the constant banging on with “how we want to play” is the right path to walk down. Will see anyway just sick of some of these abject boring displays that have been a key talking point of the LR tenure. let’s see how we finish the window and then make a judgement cause there’s serious holes in this squad.
The commentator kept getting Slater and Seri mixed up We really dont need to go from having the ball on the edge of the opponent's penalty area and then pass it all the way back to Ingram I dont think we were trying to win the game last night We were in the final few minutes and we kept passing the ball between the back four with no attempt at going forward
Not sure why youngsters today think passing sideways and backwards around your own penalty area is "attractive football", and passing forward and trying to score goals is derided as "direct football".
Probably footballers playing on a Friday night is equivalent to consumer goods manufactured in a factory on Friday afternoon. Quality is lacking.
You can see that Twine is a good footballer but his corners and free kicks have been poor He did have one free kick on target tonight though Do the coaching staff talk about what to do at corners? So many are kicked too far or floated gently for the keeper to catch. At least we've not been aiming for the first defender like we used to do.
Nigel Pearson got his tactics absolutely spot on last night. The concern is that most Managers in this league can adopt the same tactics to nullify our threat. The other concern is that our back four still don't seem to understand Rosies main tactic ~ to pass it out to the wing as fast as possible… you can see him pointing to the winger and constantly looking frustrated when the pass doesnt come. By the time the ball does arrive at the wing, their defenders have had chance to close the space so inevitably the winger passes the ball back to defence or we lose the ball. It comes back to the point as to whether the likes of Mcloughlin and Alfie have the vision of passing to attempt the style of football that we are trying to play. We are missing a Huddlestone. Seri can do that type of passing occasionally but its not enough.
