Be interesting to see who gets the starting role on the right given Tella is off. SAA has been fantastic coming off the bench and probably deserves it based on that. But also feels a bit early for him and get the feeling he might be most effective continuing to play that impact sub role. However equally probably too short a turn around for Fraser to start. Maybe Stu? If we play a midfield 3 of Charles, Downes and Alcaraz.
Not so sure. I think he's (right now) incredibly effective as a sub against tired players. Still, as good a time as any to test him out I guess.
Would you rather start a guy who signed yesterday and has barely played in half a year? I don’t think there is another viable option.
Better as a 10, but has no defensive attributes and leaves our defence exposed. And Alcaraz is a better 10.
So we agree he has no defensive attributes. Our fullbacks need cover and SAA will tear up and down all afternoon. Personally think this is SAA’s slot and he should have the chance to mess it up.
I don't necessarily disagree with giving him a start. Not sure I agree that he particularly has a lot of defensive attributes though. Frankly, I'm a bit bored of "defensive attributes" in our attacking players after last season. Let the attackers attack.
I’d start Adam Armstrong on the left and try Edozie on the right personally Is Alcaraz fit for tomorrow?
Yeah, Charly is available from the start I believe - I’d go with Arma and Edozie wide too, bringing Fraser on at the hour mark, probably
Well according to SaintsWeb there is an embargoed bit of the press conference where Martin said Adams was training with the “other”group so unlikely to feature tomorrow at all If that is the case then I guess Armstrong will have to play centrally
Here’s the direct quote, if Tella was in the other training group now with the news of him leaving then it would suggest that Adams won’t feature
Right, positive people. We have zero target men at the club that any of us rate! Turn that one round! And not through pretending Che isn’t off.
Russell Martin has never really played a system with a target man - and the transfer window isn’t shut yet. That is all I’ve got right now.
