I like Slater but I think he needs a 3 man midfield, I don't think Seri or Slater are right for a 2 man set up really.
Stats from a game last weekend. The score was 3-1. Which team do you think won? Possession Home24% Away76% Shots Home12 Away17 Shots on Target Home6 Away4 Corners Home3 Away9 Fouls Home12 Away9
So monitor that team with those stats all season and either the stats will change, or they'll end up in the bottom 6.
I'm not a Slater hater, but he was anonymous tonight. Traore is a luxury player and he will no doubt make way for the winger from Villa. Though he should have been hooked when Tufan went off
Hull City manager Liam Rosenior told BBC Radio Humberside: "It became one of those games in the end where we could have won but we could have easily lost. "I was delighted with the first 25 minutes and we played some great football and we scored a fantastic team goal, which is what I want to see. "What happened was we tried to score every time we got the ball, we started running with the ball, we start back-heeling the ball, we don't keep possession and that's what Bristol City want. "They're a team full of legs, full of energy, full of pace, Nigel [Pearson] has recruited really, really well and actually we gave them oxygen by not keeping possession of the ball. So a lot to learn. "What pleased me was after they scored we gained control of the game again and then they didn't have a kick other than the long throws in our box from us being naive towards the end. "On another day we take them, but another day we lose the game so overall it was a typical Championship game. But seven points from four games to start the season gives us a good platform." Bristol City manager Nigel Pearson told BBC Radio Bristol: "Not happy that we didn't win the game because I think we should have won the game. "We had a spell in the first half where they were on top and they created some shooting situations, which Max [O'Leary] dealt with pretty well. "We allowed them to get on top for a short period but that apart I think our performance was very, very positive, and after such a disappointment at home against Birmingham with our lack of creativity we just created so many opportunities today. "We missed a couple of sitters but they defended their goal with an awful lot of commitment, so fair play to them on that. If we play like that every time that we play we'll win a lot of games. "We've come here with a really positive intent and I think they'd be pretty relieved at the end of the game that the game finished because even in injury time as the away side we weren't trying to protect a point we were trying to get three. And I like that."
Honestly a draw on reflection was fair. They had a very good spell in the first half but beyond that I thought they never really threatened. I am in the party of Slater needs dropping for the benefit of the team if they bring in a defensive midfielder. As good as he is Seri was better tonight but the pair is too lightweight. Thought the front 2 struggled bar the goal but with news about Tufan apparently having some issues off the field during the week it makes sense. Should note I genuinely thought Ingram looked class on the ball tonight. He was comfortably getting it to the full backs when the pressure was on. I did also think we beat their initial press really well at points. Pearson noticed that and backed off making it far more difficult. If Connolly bags that golden chance we probably win but such is the championship. 7 points from these opening 4 fixtures is still really good going in my opinion. Next 3-5 fixtures really gauge where this team is at though in my opinion
Has Cox got a club yet? Caught the back end or Rosey's interview and it looks like Fleming and Longman are off on loan. We look very thin at LB if its just Greaves and Vinagre as LB options - especially if Macca or Jones get injured and we need Greaves at centre back, or if Vinagre is out and we only have Greaves.
Thought Twine had a poor game. Never got past his man and when he went inside did not create a lot Thought that Vaughan was better when he came on in the same position moves the ball with speed and creates stuff when he goes inside
Well guys read all the comments-nobody mentioned the goal that was not given. Apart from a 15 minute period in the first half i thought we were the better side and deserved three points from the game. Far better than we played against Brum. 4 points from our two away games and only 1 point from our two home games. Long season- players need time to gel after 10 to 12 games we all have a better idea where we are. Good game for the neutral to watch tonight.
Every time he got the ball on the wing he went inside against 3 or 4 players when he had no one guarding the wing.
Just 1 of 3 square pegs in round holes tonight. I don't get it. And a piss weak central midfield. And 3 or 4 trier's who actually aren't quite good enough for a serious push. Plus continuing lack of any pace, on field leadership and physical presence. And generally boring tactics. Other than that, ok-ish (bang average). A big week coming up if the club is serious otherwise mid table beckons (after some getting over excited over beating a poor Wednesday and finally seeing off 10 man Blackburn). Bristol pressed well tbf
