Noble was brilliant, as was the other lad up front. Disappointed with Newcastle, defence was poor but had we had Vuckic, Abied, Ferguson, Henderson, Sameobi playing, it would have been a better game. Both teams poor in possession but a deserved win for Sunderland. As for trouble, a few Newcastle fans broke some seats, those fans were pointed out to the police by fellow Toon fans. Outside the ground, a few ****ers were shouting 3-0 and 9-1, I just had to laugh at how low they were stooping. A few tried to take things into the violent side and were put in their place by a couple of Sunderland fans. Was good to see your fans telling your own off.
I would suggest that any Mag who attended the game will have only went for the aggro...Unless of course they always go to the mags reserve games...
I would of went if I'd had the time like. Stadium is easy to get to and I'd rather watch our reserves than England.
I don't know WHY, in a derby reserve game, we put out that starting XI and completely missed out most of our best youngsters. Well, I suppose it's because a lot of them have been away on U21 duty recently, but still. Fair play though, no excuse for getting beat 3-0.
I have been banging on about this lad for over 3 years now having seen him as a youth take the game by storm. He is a star in the making. I'm telling you he is the real deal. If he can overcome these injuries, he really is the most natural finisher I have seen at the club for many a year. He is a gem of a player and if Bruce had anything about him (he doesnt unfortunately) he should reward the lad with a place on the bench for Saturday. He is ready for his chance now and if we had a manager that didnt have a phobia about attacking teams he would be there knocking on the door.
Moyes didn't have any fear of playing a 16 year old Wayne Rooney. Then again, Bruce is without doubt a superior manager to Moyes.
Absolute bullshit. Apparently there was a half decent turnout from the Newcastle fans, and you're suggesting every single one of them was looking for a fight? I would imagine the Sunderland contingent was larger than usual too, were they all looking for a scrap as well? As much as you like to think it is the case, not every single Newcastle fan goes looking for a fight everywhere they go. You might still be stuck in the 70s and 80s, but times have changed.
Football is a sport which divides and where there is division there is always an element of hatred which leads to that hatred manifesting into reality in the form of anger and violence. It isn't an issue of us and them, as there are like-minded supporters in both camps and beyond.
I'd play him personally - he is a fox in the box and the sort of player that some of our created chances has needed (which has been missing!) He gambles on the ball and reads the game well - scores a hat-trick in the reserves against the mags so why not play him?? Go on Bruce - stick him in - especially if Ji is not fit - PLEASE don't play Sessegnon as a "striker" as he's NOT A STRIKER!!!!
Spot on Leazes - I think both sets of fans have their share of ****ers - luckily there are some decent fans who put them in their place (from both sides!) - unfortunately you'll never get rid of the anger and hatred completely
