I think Amiri was a teenage protege expected to do great things who never quite lived up to it but still managed to get regular game time in top European leagues.

Maybe he just looks good value as a lad in his prime with contract running down. Nothing wrong with that for where we’re currently at…

Isn't it funny the difference a day makes? Ben is going tomorrow and has played it down all week fearing the worst. Confirmation that Sinisterra is back in the squad and the signing of Piroe leads him to believe we are probably looking at a 4-1 win tomorrow <laugh>

A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it, yellow socks

The juice of a carrot, the smile of a parrot
A little drop of claret, anything that rocks

Health service glasses, gigolos and brasses
    Round or skinny bottoms

Cheddar cheese and pickle, a Vincent motorsickle
    Slap and tickle

    Saying okey-dokey, sing-a-long a Smokie

No new signings today so here is the latest news from Spain.

Went for tapas last night. I don't know how they know but the Spanish always just instinctively know my wife is German and automatically give her German menus. She even shaves her armpits! Anyway, the girl said to my missus that the best thing on the menu was the Angus burger. Sounded interesting so we ordered 3 Angus burgers. It came in a huge toasted sesame seed bun, mayonnaise, gherkins, 2 x burger patties about half inch thick with stringy cheese in-between, onions, fried egg, crispy bacon, lettuce, tomato and more mayonnaise. Served with skin on huge potato wedges. It was delicious. Sat in a little square with a nice breeze and a couple of freezing cold beers to finish. Waitress spoke German to the missus and Spanish to me so I've no idea what she said. Mi Espanyol no es bueno.

Up this morning, no run, some toast with honey followed up with a slice of Tortilla de patatas. Loads of coffee, fresh orange juice.

On the beach early doors, watching the boy play in the waves whilst I just paddled on the shore line. Got a couple of bottles of water and sat in the sun poolside afterwards.

Just had dinner. Fresh tuna steaks with garlic potatoes, red cabbage with white raisins and some kind of bean stew which was really nice. A little glass of Sangria which is massively overrated imo.

Back to me sunbed. Brolly up cos it's 35C today and not very breezy. Otherwise all is quiet in Spain. Just chillin out in the shade. Might do some bird watching later. Will be home soon enough.

Hope everything is good back in Blighty. Hope the weather is good and it's not too miserable.

Stay away from sangria mate, rubbish stuff even the spanish don't drink it.
Try instead tinto de verano, red wine, ice and gaseosa( a non sweet type of lemonade).
Very refreshing on a hot afternoon, most places even serve it by the pint.
As for the 'bird watching' I can imagine, a great variety of the tit family whilst keeping your eye out for the lesser spotted thong.
    Enjoy.

Most refreshing drink I've ever had in hot weather is a Mackeson Stout, 50/50 with lemonade.
