We have Sandat who is highly rated and it seems we are giving younger players the opportunitys so we should also promote him and ease him into games that we are comfortably winning so he can adjust.
I broadly agree, but regarding the system I don't think it's as inflexible as that. When Connolly starts I'd expect it to be alongside another striker more often than not. So sometimes it'll be 2 strikers and sometimes it'll be a striker and a 10.
True but see my other post. If we play two up top for some games, it means we have to sacrifice at least two of Tufan, Traoré and Twine. Four strikers plus Tufan, Traoré and Twine as advanced midfielders and then Vaughan, Lokilo, Philogene, Allahyar and potentially more as wide players, not to mention Sinik and Longman, is way too many attacking players to have in the squad without them getting consistent game time. Some of them need to go before the window closes, namely Óscar if we sign Davis and probably also Longman, Allahyar and Sinik whether on loan or permanently.
There will be injuries. You are assuming all will stay fit/available all of the time. That won't be the case. Not only that there will be plenty of gametime from the bench. There's nothing wrong with competition.
There’s a difference between squad depth and competition and a bloated squad of high-earners who aren’t playing consistently. Rosenior has already said he wants a much smaller squad (fewer than 25 first-teamers) but with players who can play multiple positions if there are injuries. This is similar to how Guardiola and even De Zerbi operate their squads. Man City, for example, only have two recognised senior strikers in Haaland and Álvarez and hardly any recognised wingers but they make it work and rotate their squads appropriately. They also play far more games than us. We’re already out of the League Cup. Four strikers plus all our attacking midfielders and our wingers is way too much. Too many players on high wages not playing regularly isn’t responsible financially nor in terms of good morale.
As of right now we have 23 first-teamers who would go towards the 25-man squad, including those on loan regardless of age but not including our permanent players born on or after January 1st 2002 who aren’t required to be registered to the 25-man squad to be able to play competitive games. Philogene wouldn’t count either so doesn’t count towards the 25-man squad. Considering we might sign another keeper, holding midfielder, Davis plus another winger means some aren’t being registered and at least 5 aren’t even making the bench.
At the moment though there are 3 strikers when we will sometimes play 2 together, if Davis comes in its likely Oscar could leave. Even if we consider Tufan a de-facto striker (fase 9) that's 2 for each position and allows for rotation without being too overloaded. Twine and Traore look to be competing for the 10 shirt though either can be used wide as they have been in the absence of Ali and Sinik. Longman has already been told he can leave. We have Lokilo and expect Philogene, which is 4 wingers for 2 starting berths at the moment and if we bring in another then one of Ali or Sinik. may well leave. Deeper lying we have Seri, Slater, Simons and Doc currently. I'd suspect one of either doc or Simons may go out ( the latter on loan) if we strengthen Seri's position as we lack quality cover in his role as deep lying playmaker. Suspect Tufan will come into contention for Slaters shirt to add competition there also. The aim is clearly to have 2 quality options for each shirt. There's nothing at all wrong with that. It's when you get players way down the order with little chance of being involved at all that the big problems start.
