If there is one incoming it's got to be a young CB surely?

Like Hefferhan or Murphy or a first team player to replace Schar?

Not necessarily. If Chelsea allow us to do that, to leave us a bit of wiggle - why wouldn't we do it?

If the right opportunity presents itself, they'll make it happen. I still think one more arrives.

Basically, somewhere in between - someone adequate to cover for (and learn from) Schar.

Problem is they are most likely already better than Schar.
Either we go all out and get that Benfica lad or Alex Murphy is our back up.
If we don’t get a centre back in then we look at the right winger situation

Don't do it Schlem. He always wriggles out of it when he loses, but holds others to it if he wins. It's a no win situation.

I honestly think we might be done unless there is a fair few outgoings, we already look to be struggling with the Home Grown *HG* quota for Europe (min 4 or lose the spaces from the 25 man squad) and have 25 senior players in the squad.

    1 Dub - 34
    2 Ritchie - 33 *BT*
    3 Trippier - 32 *BT*
    4 Wilson - 31 *BT*
    5 Burn - 31 *BT*
    6 Schar - 31
    7 Gillespie - 31 *BT*
    8 Dummett - 31 *HG*
    9 Pope - 31 *BT*
    10 Karius - 30
    11 Manquillo - 29
    12 Lascelles - 29 *BT*
    13 Miggy - 29
    14 Krafth - 29
    15 Murphy 28 *BT*
    16 Target - 28 *BT*
    17 Joelinton 28
    18 Longstaff - 25 *HG*
    19 Barnes - 25 *BT*
    20 Bruno - 25
    21 Willock 24 *BT*
    22 Isak - 23
    23 Botman 23
    24 Tonali - 23
    25 Gordon - 22 *BT*

    BT - British Trained (14), HG - Homegrown (2)
    (GK - 4, FB - 5, CB - 4, CM - 5, L/RW - 5, CF - 2 - TOTAL -25)

Livarmento and Hall - both BT so don't need to be registered for the EPL but think there is a rule about players under 21 having had to play for the club for 2/3 years for European comps or they need to be registered in the squad?

Anderson and Miley don't appear to need to be registered for either and qualify for HG status.

No Hendrick, Hayden, Fraser in the above who should all be on the way out the door. Past that a GK could go (or not be registered - Karius/Gillespie) and possibly Krafth and/or Manquillo could be dropped now (Livarmento can cover their spots) and free up some space. Possibly Ritchie won't be registered for Europe either?

That would free up 5 spaces, although Livarmento and Hall take up 2 (I believe) so there would be 3 spaces available but you could on register one extra for Champ League squad due to HG quota.

Like in this situation if I win he'll say the original offer was to Fadge and not me?

According to Romano we are very interested in both Silva and Todibo. Can you imagine that you can basically have the same back four for a decade in Hall, Botman, either of those two and Livramento?

Still think RW is as important - Miggy and Murphy still too unreliable going forward (not questioning work or commitment).
