Some people are never happy! Everyone’s opinions are valid, but some days it can be more than a little depressing with a few of the doomsayers.
Holgate adds good depth, hopefully mean Lyanco is off and that's a really good replacement. Fraser seems more strange tbh, considering we have 4 really good options plus Djenepo.
Yet I believe you said Winks was a top signing for Leicester? Given Winks and Holgate are at a similar level to each other albeit play different positions that seems a little contradictory.
Honestly I wish people could read a little more thoroughly before shouting meltdown and doomsaying. Literally said my complaints are that I think we are good enough to win this league and now I am a bit worried that we will have playoffs. Oh **** what a meltdown!!!!
I think people are talking generally - not just about your comments. As in Twitter , Saintsweb and other posters on here. For example Os’s ludicrous post above about these loans proving on one possible conclusion (with trademark no attempt to explain)
How are winks and holgate similar in anyway? Winks is more like the Bertrand signing where he’s not quite good enough for a top club, but can do a job lower down. Holgate has proven that he is nowhere near PL level and if you read the Everton forum most of them are laughing saying they don’t think he will even be good enough for the championship. (Which is what I also think). Don’t think they’re remotely similar. This reminds me of the time people were trying to convince themselves Nathan Jones is a good appointment even though he clearly wasn’t.
It should always be the aim of the poster to address the content of the post and not the perception of what the poster must think
And you may be right, and he might be hopeless. But he's a loan, so it doesn't really matter that much if it turns out that he is.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the past decade, it’s to pay precisely no attention to Everton fans. How do they explain his good loan spell with Championship WBA? Where he was both good and popular… (I checked the comments on his IG post from when he left and it’s overwhelmingly positive)
But there’s the opportunity cost of filling the squad up with crap instead of buying a player that is capable. Btw i don’t have a massive problem with the Fraser deal, as long as he isn’t replacing tella and is seen as an addition. I also don’t have a problem with loans in general as we look to get promoted and then can re-evaluate. I have a problem with our scouts identifying players that won’t improve us. Which has been consistent for the last few years (aside from Lavia)
