The real question is, if Terry is marking Suarez, does that constitute as a meeting of the National Front?
I could only agree with you if I felt the Chavs would definitely finish above us, but I don't. I still think there's a possibility of AVB having a mare, loads of upheaval etc. People have said they'll get the cheque book out, not too sure on that unless they have abit of a clearout, they can't just keep adding to the wage bill with the new rules. Nothing much would surprise me this season.
i don't think 3rd place is Nailed on for chelski at all.It wouldn't suprise me if they didn't get top 4
I've been saying this for weeks! Unless they sign a defensive midfielder (or two), any team that is capable of counter attacking will have a chance...or six. Man Utd and Arsenal have already shown them up in a way that would've been unthinkable under Ancelotti, and you have to say that Newcastle, City and ourselves are also more than capable of doing so when the time comes. QPR also demonstrated they're not capable of taking what they dish out, too.
Fair comments all, we'll see how it unfolds. ATM, I don't see us rivals to Chelsea, BUT if we do gain 2 or 3 points over them by Monday night, then I will change my view. Until/unless that happens though, I'm still hoping for a Pool defeat as I still think they and Arsenal are our main rivals.
This is the first year for a long while where I believe that we're (even if it's marginally) stronger than all our London rivals. Call me dillusional or whatever I don't give a toss but our football has been brilliant of late and on paper, we've got some of the best players not just in the league, but throughout Europe.
Suarez is from Uruguay, so I'm sure that Terry's got a few choice words for him, too. Perhaps they could form the International Front? Sepp Blatter will probably be available to lead them, soon.
Adding to my point, the best thing is Chelsea will be favourites for 3rd so technically we have nothing to lose which I feel will deifnitely work in our favour.
I'm a card-carrying pessimist, my first priority is fourth. So I want the other contenders to drop games until they're no longer threats. At that point I'd worry about third. It's true what you say about the overall squad strength though. If this team plays together well, they have a real shot at third. Maybe even higher, assuming one or other of the Mancs go off the rails at least a little.
That's exactly what I've been saying since before the season began, and the way the season has gone so far I believe it all the more.
Oh for the day they're docked points at WHL. Well, if they can;t get their heads around checking Wikipedia for how factually inaccurate that one's been getting lately...
Along as its a blood bath with lots of red/yellow cards it will be fine. Weaken both sides for forthcoming fixtures is ideal. Then we just need to win our games in hand. The idea result would be 7 - 7 (players left on the pitch at the end)
According to some of the papers, Terry and Suarez will be wearing Kick racism Out Of Football shirts when they take to the pitch. Surely every Chelsea and Liverpool player except Terry and Suarez should be wearing them?
Chelsea look like they are all over the place. If they carry on like this, I can see them dropping well out of the top 4.
I said that after his first three games. My best mate (he who is the lifelong Chelsea fan and former box-holder at SB) reckons that AVB is the worst manager they've ever had, and is there merely as the Russian's puppet. He wants Chelsea to fail miserably under AVB, even loose CL footy, so that the Russian can be shown that he has to keep his nose out of the dressing room, and also to prove to him that finishing 2nd all those times was not failure on the part of his managers. You can see his point.
