When he was playing with Danny Ings. Shane Long was (fairly) prolific when playing with Mane and Pelle.

"I can't believe SR. They only want to buy teenagers from Man City so they can sell them. We need experience!"

    *Buys experience*

"No, not those players. Where's the talent and excitement?"

Rob Dorsett on Sky saying we’ve gone back in again for Wood with a restructured offer (more up front, and add-ons rescaled to be more achievable) - he also adds that the player has told Swansea he wants to leave to join Southampton.

A short version of my post. It seems like they can’t win. I honestly don’t know who we could sign that would lead to substantial online whinging

Harwood-Bellis? But that would bring out the city youngster crowd even though he won the championship

Piroe was probably the closest before he joined Leeds. But you’d still get the “it’s just because he is Ex Swansea” crowd

It’s the same energy as those saying that now Piroe has moved that there is no way we can sell Che because there is absolutely no one who can take his place

We know we are actively trying to shift Lyanco and it is looking increasingly likely that ABK will go. I think we sign both Holgate and Wood to leave us with 4 senior CBs for the season.

I'd be very happy with those 4 tbh

Used to be that we had meltdowns when we sold players. Now we have meltdowns when we bring players in too.

The way I see it, Championship teams will be knackered playing us after 70-75 mins. We've already seen what SAA can do coming off the bench. Now if we add Fraser to the mix coming on against a tired defence or demoting Edozie to impact sub we could score an absolute ****load of late goals. I mean, we are already. Squad depth is vital for a promotion push.

And when we don’t sign players we never bid for.

I have never complained about the Man city players.
I like that model. I object to signing players who clog the team up with averageness.
But mostly, I object to the way this whole thing plays out. The story growing is players don’t see us as an exciting project. And I say that as someone who:

    1) has been happy with almost everything this sunmer
    2) has gone back to going to games
    3) started paying for sky to watch on something better than a stream.

I am fully on board with what we have been doing. That doesn’t mean I have to think signing a 5th winger and an Everton reject are exciting. They aren’t.

One good signing and I am back on board. But that means keeping Che too. Because we are not strong enough in several key departments!

Several? Out of interest which? With the current squad as it is. Not assuming people leave without replacements. The current squad assuming these two loans are finalised as they seem they will be

Up front. We have two strikers. And Adam is not a striker. Midfield. We have One DM. At the back, we have 3 competent cbs. That is if all these loans go through.

    That is several.

Downes and Charles makes 2 DMs.

We have two strikers, but also Tella, Adarma, Sulemana who can all potentially fill in if necessary. Plus Ballard of course. We're going to find it hard to sign another striker who is content to play second fiddle to Adams.

We have 2 DMs who can play as a sole DM. What do you think Downes is? And if we play 2 6s then Smallbone is another (don’t think he can be a sole 6). So that is just wrong. I don’t think we will be signing more DMs

    So down to two areas

At CB, if no one leaves we have 5 CBs not 3 because you include ABK and Lyanco (I get the latter isn’t competent). It looks like we are still pushing for Wood taking that to 4. So that is covered. And if ABK doesn’t leave he would have to make himself available. If Holgate is his replacement and we have the current 3 and Lyanco I will give you that

I agree on strikers even if Che stays. That is the only area of the three that seems quiet and that might be because two of our linked players are playing in European qualifiers. But I don’t think they were strong links

Unless they are someone who can also play wide. But as mentioned we already have players like that (and too many wingers in general)

Are you counting Onuachu in your numbers? Because your numbers are 6 with Che, Armstrong, Tella, Sulemana and Ballard ?
