Willock wasn’t starting over Bruno tonali or Joelinton and Murphy wasnt starting over Almiron barnes or Gordon

Willock would have played for sure.... seriously he was our best cm last season.

I'm not even joking btw he's so much better than people think.

I think he's good. Arsenal are very quick to dismiss players now and are getting like chelsea. Smith rowe will be next out the door and really quite a good option for anyone to go get.

But your best 3 CMS are tonali, guimaeres and joelinton for power. Willock is better cm than joelinton overall.

We've got 4 or 5 good ones tbh but willock imo is key because of his pace. Tonali Bruno and Joelinton lack pace and city exploited it.

I think we might see Anderson start he did very well vs City and looks a top player in the making...he's got goals in him.

Anderson was ok against city coming on but with 5 subs maybe save him to do the same job against tiring lfc players?

really the secret with lfc is to bully us, don't let it be a technical contest as then we will just give the ball back by trying to play quickly forward.

cheslea absolutely destroyed us by pushing on up and forcing us to panic hit it at diaz and salah and neither can hold the ball up worth a damn.

It'll be longstaff most likely unfortunately... miley is the best cm at the club from what I've seen but he's going to be protected.

I see Liverpool being too much for us.

    CHRIS SUTTON' S PREDICTION:
    Newcastle v Liverpool (16:30)
Newcastle's opening-day win against Aston Villa was a triumph and then it was a bit of a comedown for them. There was so much excitement that Newcastle could go there and take the game to Manchester City and they didn't do that.

Liverpool have so many good attacking players - Luis Diaz's goal last week was brilliant, Diogo Jota is a handful, Mohamed Salah of course and Dominik Szoboszlai looks a talented player, but do they have that midfield protection?

    Sutton's prediction: 3-1

Joe's prediction: Liverpool look like they are going to concede a lot of goals this season, but they will score a few too. 3-3

JONES KNOWS BEST HAS GONE FOR 3:3 DRAW.

This has the ingredients for game of the season. It could get a bit wild out there.

When a barnstormer of a game is expected my eyes are always drawn to the total shots on target market rather than the goal-line as you can sometimes take advantage of a disparity in the market. It's a fun bet to follow, too, as you have a pure interest in both teams attacking.

When there is a high goal expectancy, shots on target numbers should mirror that but there looks an edge in the pricing here with 11 or more match shots on target priced up at odds-against at 6/5 with Sky Bet. When Liverpool are not quite functioning their shots on target numbers always spike above market expectation due to how exposed their defence and goalkeeper is from the lack of balance in midfield.

Newcastle should be capable of posting their market expectation of around six on target while Liverpool's attack has looked deadly in periods of their first two matches. There were 15 match shots on target in Liverpool's win over Bournemouth - this one should go down the same path.

    SCORE PREDICTION: 3-3
