Good signing for the championship, but it’s what it might mean for some of our current players that makes it hard to be excited about it
If it’s to compete with Edozie - who I don’t think is ready to start but can be an impactful bench player - then fine. If it’s to replace Nathan Tella, then absolutely not fine.
There "here, take this journeyman loan in exchange for that talented young player who was contracted to you" thing is not exciting at all.
I'd expect Fraser to be very good at this level, but he's also injury prone and a bit of a dingus. Odd signing but not necessarily a bad signing.
Isn’t he a cock sometimes though? I am sure he has a reputation, plus I don’t want him blocking the path for SAA.
He certainly fell out with Eddie Howe, but I think it stems back to the covid season when he refused to sign a X-week contract with AFCB right before becoming a free agent (and moving to Newcastle)? I don't know if it's Howe and Fraser bearing grudges against each other but I haven't been aware of him falling out with Scotland coaches/teammates or anyone at his other former clubs? (not to say he didn't)
Exactly my feelings. If he starts coming on and taking those SAA cameos I will be seriously miffed. Highlight of the season so far for me and a disaster if that happens.
Urgh. No thanks. This the guy who refused to play during a relegation battle cos he didn't wanna get injured ahead of a free transfer? Not what we need.
The way he abandoned Bournemouth at the end of the season they got relegated was appalling, IMO. I was ashamed that he is an Aberdonian. (Aberdeen also missed out on a huge sell on fee because he ran his contract down, but that`s just my sour grapes!) Good player though, but I don`t want him blocking our young talent coming through.
To be fair, I don't think I'd sign a weekly contract and risk major injury when I'm just about to become a free agent in the middle of a global health crisis either... *runs for cover*
I'm in two minds about this. On one hand he's a very good player at this level and it shows that SR really want to get back to the PL. On the other he's got a questionable attitude and if he's Tella's replacement it won't go down well at all. Also don't want to reduce SAA's playing time. I'll wait and see how this turns out.
