It must be devastating for Italy ... I mean theyre being feasted on from **** clubs like Newcastle and now Saudi league club
The clubs themselves don't have supporters though. So, who is actually watching on TV, they don't support the club, they follow a player? Can't really see that as a long term thing. I didn't work in China, it won't work out there. (in theory, the Chinese team should have had ****ing loads of match going fans) Because no one gives a **** about the teams themselves.
China didn’t go as heavy as the Saudis are going though. Unless my brain ain’t braining, China didn’t really sign any single superstar, nor did they manage to persuade emerging talent either. It was largely either squad players at good clubs or those looking for a final payday. In one window a number of Saudi clubs have built roughly half an XI with genuinely good players. You give that three or four more windows - assuming they continue at this pace - where they build full XIs and squads and I’d be surprised if there then isn't a market for viewership, with or without own supporters. The African and Asian markets will likely look at TV deals first off, then that could trickle into Europe.
1, possibly. See no reason why 'fans' from other countries couldn't swithch allegience as they are telly clappers after all. 2, most Europeans live in a city with an actual football team they support, if not they support a club in their own country. There is no way that these established supprters switch to a Saudi team. The interest would be fleeting on that basis.
They already have mate. lots of the big sport channels like DAZN, FOX and CANAL+ https://www.thenationalnews.com/sport/football/2023/08/10/saudi-pro-league-tv-streaming/
Possibly because we may be signing Ilias Chair (allegedly) although we seem to be signing a good dozen more according to the paps ... he any good? ...
Yeah, yeah, yeah ... but Chelsea's Cesare Casedei was named Player of the Tournament and won the Golden Boot playing for Italy at the U20 World Cup ... and we have him on loan for the season ... and he scored the last minute winner against Cardiff at the weekend ...
The Salah transfer is interesting, he's saying no, his shanty is saying no, were are saying no. What happens if they throw £250M at us?
