Now, with Nigel Pearson gone, will Simpson return? Or stay at Millwall? Or move elsewhere? http://www.hullcityindependent.net/?page=news&news_id=773 Have Millwall cooled on him?
Simpson and Stewart were excellent together on Boxing Day when we beat the Blunts 3-2 at Bramall Lane with Simpson scoring twice after being set up by Stewart on both occasions I believe. Don't need to be hasty on this one. Worth another shout IMO.
That's a very bold quote and not one I think you should be so certain on. NB quite likes Simpson and with NB out of the picture in terms of playing we might see him sooner than you think.
Millwall want him, he wants to stay at Millwall, we're not going to drag back a player who doesn't want to be here.
How can you be so sure ? Plus he wont be playing for Millwall that day. OJ is doing ok for Millwall at the moment but NB may just have someone else in mind thats a whole lot better. If Millwall are prepared to pay the £600,000 for OJ then do the deal. One good bit of news. Hull City fans dont have to worry about Killgallon coming here anymore.
Millwall are reported as saying that they want to sign Simpson, and he is reported as saying he wants a permanent transfer there. I suspect that OLM is right
Fair does - the lad has struggled with life up north so if he wants to leave for Millwall, let him. Frees up another place.
But with limited options and a manager who wants him, then it makes sense for the club to recall him. I know it is an option that is currently being discussed by the club so it is a real possibility.
He didn't want to be here under NP. We don't know he won't enjoy it under NB, if he respects and likes him as much we're told the other players do he might fancy finishing the season with us to see what happens. He could always move to Millwall in the summer if he decides his future's there. For what it's worth i think you're right OLM, he'll most likely stick with Millwall and engineer himself a move there (without much resistance from our side). But if it were me i'd consider my options and see what i have on offer here, we're probably more likely to get promoted than them which might tempt him to stay if he's offered first team oppurtunities here. Plus it's not as if they might gety relegated without him, either way he's guaranteed NPC football next season.
Just out of curiosity, how do you know NB wants him? He's currently with a manager who wants him at Millwall and if (as it appears) he is unhappy in Hull (or the North) I very much doubt he'll come back
Because NB has said so (and no not in any press statement). I'm not bothered if you want to believe me, but I can assure you it is true, and I'm only posting to try and share some info.
It really does amaze me how some footballers cannot at least put up with a few years in a place they might not like, because that is where their job is. They have enough money to fly back to London on their days off, many of us have had to go to places we did not like, because the job dictated it.
